The four part apologetics on the U.S website of the SSPX, titled Is the SSPX in heresy? has not addressed the point of the Society of St.Pius X ( SSPX ) assuming Vatican Council II rejects the traditional teaching on other religions because of the visible dead theory and so they are heretical. They reject the Council and the dogma on salvation.
Archbishop Gerhard Muller has said that those who consider Vatican Council II as a rupture with the past are heretical. He cited traditionalists and progressives.
The SSPX considers being saved in invincible ignorance etc as exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (according to their websites and the book by Fr.Francois Laisney being sold by the SSPX).So Vatican Council II must contradict the traditional teaching on other religions.
This is irrational.There are no known exceptions; no case of a person being saved in invincible ignorance is visible on earth. The SSPX website has not addressed this issue.
One can accept the traditional teaching on other religions and the SSPX website cannot cite any particular text in the Council which is contradictory.Their website cannot provide any reference.
Even though the U.S District website cannot cite any particular text , the SSPX bishops have said 'other religions' is an issue in the rejection of Vatican Council II.
The same error of assuming invincible ignorance is an explicit exception to the traditional understanding on other religions, is being made by Archbishops Gerhard Muller and Augustine Di Noia in interviews with the National Catholic Register.When asked about extra ecclesiam nulla salus both Archbishops assumed there are known exceptions to the dogma.This is heresy.It is the rejection of a defined dogma with claims of being able to see the dead. Yes it is heresy, if you reject extra ecclesiam nulla salus with alleged known exceptions and then reject Vatican Council II.
That Vatican Council II contradicts the traditional teaching on other religions is now the SSPX political position. How can they contradict Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre? -Lionel Andrades
