Cardinal Burke's reference to false religions not being paths to salvation is from Vatican Council II

When Cardinal Raymond Burke referred to 'false religions' he was citing Vatican Council II which tells us that non Catholic religions are false paths to salvation. The former Prefect of the Apostolic Signature of the Vatican cited Lumen Gentium 8 which says that the true Church of Christ subsists in only the Catholic Church. He could also have quoted Ad Gentes 7 and Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II, which tell us that 'all' need 'faith and baptism' for salvation and hence the necessity for mission.1
The American cardinal speaking on May 18 at the Voice of the Family Conference in Rome, in answer to a question said that false religions should be suppressed and referred to those which support abortion.

Cardinal Raymond Burke in his historic address broke away from the common use of a false premise to interpret LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc.He was not saying that LG 8 etc referred to known people saved outside the Church and so were objective exceptions to the centuries-old interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).

This is the irrational and non traditional New Theology, Cushingite theology affirmed by cardinals and bishops today. They wrongly assume hypothetical cases (LG 16 etc) are objectively visible in the present times and so are examples of non Catholics saved outside the Church. In reality there are no such cases. There are no practical exceptions to EENS and Ad Gentes 7( all need faith and baptism for salvation).

He was affirming the old exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church based on Vatican Council II ( LG 8, AG 67, LG 14, NA 2 etc) which indicate that other religions are false paths to salvation and that they have errors, deficiencies and superstition as Pope John Paul II stated in Dominus Iesus.

The Magisterium made an error in the Fr. Leonard Feeney case when it assumed invisible cases of the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance were visible and objective examples of salvation outside the Church and so it was wrongly concluded that there were exceptions to Feeenyite EENS.This was a factual error ( we cannot see baptism of desire cases on earth), an objective error( there are no practical exceptions to EENS) and it cannot be the work of the Holy Spirit.
Now  Cardinal Burke has called for ' a constant evangelisation' which would affirm the Kingship of Christ over all areas of life, explicit and implicit and that the true Church of Christ exists in only the Catholic Church and so there is the necessity for all to embrace the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in its spiritual and social dimension, since there is no salvation outside Jesus and His Church.
Vatican Council II says only the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth.Other religions do not have it.The 'great religions', which have 'good and holy' things in them and 'often reflect that ray of the Truth which enlightens all people', are not paths to salvation(AG 7).
Other religions which support abortion, Cardinal Raymond Burke said, should be suppressed.Protestants denominations support contraception and abortion.-Lionel Andrades

1.
AD GENTES 7
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, Himself a man, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:45), "neither is there salvation in any other" (Acts 4:12). Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door...
And hence missionary activity today as always retains its power and necessity.
By means of this activity, the Mystical Body of Christ unceasingly gathers and directs its forces toward its own growth (cf. Eph. 4:11-16). The members of the Church are impelled to carry on such missionary activity by reason of the love with which they love God and by which they desire to share with all men the spiritual goods of both its life and the life to come.
Finally, by means of this missionary activity, God is fully glorified, provided that men fully and consciously accept His work of salvation, which He has accomplished in Christ.-Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II

LUMEN GENTIUM 14
This Sacred Council wishes to turn its attention firstly to the Catholic faithful. Basing itself upon Sacred Scripture and Tradition, it teaches that the Church, now sojourning on earth as an exile, is necessary for salvation. Christ, present to us in His Body, which is the Church, is the one Mediator and the unique way of salvation. In explicit terms He Himself affirmed the necessity of faith and baptism(124) and thereby affirmed also the necessity of the Church, for through baptism as through a door men enter the Church. -Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II
