Power of Prayer Caught on Camera: Witness and Believe

Alleged Marian apparitions draw hundreds to Kerala church

Alleged Marian apparitions draw hundreds to Kerala church

By Cyriac Sebastian
Kochi: Hundreds of people are flocking to a church in Kerala after a group of children claimed to have had Marian apparitions while praying there.
The children are students of St Ambrose Lower Primary School at Edavanakkad adjacent to a parish church with the same name under the archdiocese of Verapoly.
According to an explanatory note posted on the parish billboard, it all began on September 23 when a Hindu girl student, Krishnaveda, went to the church to pray for her ear problem and applied some holy water.
The girl later told her companions that she felt immediate relief as she applied the holy water on her ear.
As the children came out to pray in the church, they saw in the sky a vision of Jesus being scourged to pray and when they looked up, the church note signed by parish priest Father Mathew D’Cunha says.

Reciting the name of “Jesus” they went inside the church to thank God for curing Krishnaveda’s ear problem. Ambrosiya, the only Catholic girl among them, volunteered to lead them in reciting the rosary.
Since she did not know the “Mysteries of Light” recited on Thursdays, she had requested her class teacher’s help. The children were already praying when the teacher reached the church around 1:45 pm.
As they were praying one of the girls, Anusree, told the teacher that the Blessed Virgin was standing under the altar table. They also felt the smell of jasmine flower. The children said the apparition called them to come closer. All this frightened another girl, Sivanya, who said she wanted to go from there.
As the teacher led the children out of the church, the girls saw the apparition coming after them pleading not to go away. As the teacher went to inform other teachers, the children went to call Father Merton D’Silva, the assistant pastor.
The priest took the children back to the church to pray. The children claimed they could see Mother Mary standing under the altar table. But the elders, including Father D’Silva could not see anything.

The children said the alleged apparition promised them help in studies and send them the Holy Spirit. They were also promised to be taken to heaven. As the news spread people began to gather and the parents took their children home.
A similar phenomenon occurred on October 3 when a large crowd prayed the rosary in the church with the children. After some time, everyone experienced the smell of jasmine flowers. The children saw the vision again. The priest asked the children for the exact spot where his head and prayed with tears. The gathering saw a bright light and the priest said he felt someone patting his head.
The note said many in the crowd received the gift of contrition as they prayed in the church. Since then, the church has witnessed a steady flow of visitors.
Father D’Silva said the archdiocesan authorities have decided to wait and watch before intervening.

Meanwhile the church plans to hold a night vigil on October 12.

SCHOOL CHILDREN IN INDIA CLAIM TO SEE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

SCHOOL CHILDREN IN INDIA CLAIM TO SEE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

NEWS: WORLD NEWS
by Rodney Pelletier  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  October 16, 2017

EVAVANAKKAD, India (ChurchMilitant.com) - A group of school children in the state of Kerala, India, are claiming they saw the Blessed Virgin Mary under the altar when they went pray at church.
On September 23, a Hindu girl who attended school at St. Ambrose parish in Edavanakkad, claims she was having pain in one of her ears. After going into church and putting holy water in her ear, she claimed she was healed.
She told her friends several days later of the healing, and Ambrosiya, her only Catholic friend, volunteered to lead them in a Rosary of thanksgiving in church during lunch.

On the way, they claim to have seen an image of Our Lord in the sky and went into church, praying the holy name of Jesus.
When they began the Rosary, they claimed Our Lady appeared to them "beneath" the altar and told them they would someday go to Heaven. They also claimed to be able to detect the heavy scent of jasmine, which symbolizes purity in Indian culture.
Father Merton D'Silva, the parish priest, questioned each child and submitted his findings to the bishop of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Verapoly that has decided to "wait and see" before any further investigation or comment.

Since the alleged event, hundreds of people have been flocking to the parish with many people claiming to be healed after praying the Rosary there.
On October 3, the children again claimed to see Our Lady in the church and the hundreds of people in attendance claim to have smelled a strong scent of jasmine.
Kerala is the Indian state with the highest ratio of Catholics, approximately 18 percent of the population. India has about 20 million Catholics, equaling only about 1.55 percent of the total population. Despite that, however, it has the highest number of Catholics in Asia after the Philippines.
Saint Thomas the Apostle traveled to Kerala in south-east India, a common Jewish merchant stop in ancient times and spread the Gospel there, eventually being martyred.
For 2,000 years, Christians there have considered themselves "St. Thomas Christians" and use the color red, symbolizing martyrdom, as the primary liturgical color.

Apologetics for Maike Hickson when she is at the Vatican

Image result for Photo Maike Hickson Dr.

Dr.Maike Hickson does not get answers at the Vatican and form her sources  whom she has asked about Pope Benedict saying in March 2016 that extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) was no more like it was for the missionaries in the 16th century and they could not tell her the reason why.1
To  get an answer, I mentioned, in a blog post yesterday 1 she could try another approach. She could ask herself what if the present Magisterium made a theological error which has led to new doctrines? What if there is a precise factual mistake which has led to all this confusion?
There is one!
The Magisterium  made a theological mistake in the Fr. Leonard Feeney case  when it assumed unknown for us cases of the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) were known exceptions to the traditional interpretation of the dogma EENS.The mistake was not corrected in 1960-65.So Lumen Gentium 16 ( invincible ignorance) etc were also interpreted as physically visible and known people saved outside the Church. So Vatican Council II was seen as a rupture with Tradition. This is how Cardinal Luiz Ladaria s.j, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) sees it, as did Cardinal Muller before him.
She needs to be aware of this  point when she talks about this issue with her sources in the Vatican.
Is there a precise factual mistake and did Pope Benedict make it last March 2016?
When Pope Benedict said last year that there was 'a development' in Vatican Council II he was referring to known cases of Lumen Gentium 16 etc saved outside the Church. We now know that this is irrational. There cannot be any such person. How can we see people in Heaven? How can we meet someone on earth who will be saved with the baptism of desire and not the baptism of water ?
Similarly when Massimo Faggioli 2 says the old theology and ecclesiology no more exists he means, like Pope Benedict, that the old exclusivist ecclesiology, which came with EENS, has been eliminated with LG 16, UR 3, NA 2 being visible for us cases of people saved outside the Church.Hypothetical cases of BOD, BOB and I.I like LG 16, GS 22 and AG 11( seeds of the Word) are visible and known for him in 2017.So they are exceptions to the old ecclesiology for him and there is now a new ecclesiology bases on known salvation outside the Church. De jure and defacto there are people known without 'faith and baptism'(Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II).
They are not for me.

So when someone at the Vatican tells Maike Hickson that this error is what the popes since Pius XII  have been affirming, she could  tell him that the popes since then have violated the Principle of Non Contradiction. The error can be easily be avoided today. It's simple.
Even if a pope says we humans can see people and birds in Heaven and on earth at the same time, it is wrong. The Principle of Non Contradiction applies to all. Even a pope can violate it.It is a fact of life that we cannot see a baptism of desire case in Heaven and also on earth. The popes made a mistake, an objective mistake. There are no practical cases of the baptism of desire on earth for them to be exceptions to the dogma EENS.
If at Vatican someone says that this was a mistake of the past and it cannot be changed now tell them that there is a blogger who affirms all magisterial documents issued by the popes but he says that the interprets them differently. He avoids the premise( invisible people are visible on earth) which the popes use. There are many Catholics who agree with him. They also interpret magisterial documents without the mistake.
So this is not an issue of the past only. It decides how we interpret Vatican Council II, in harmony or as rupture with EENS.
If they say that the traditionalists also use the same premise point out that they violate the Principle of Non Contradiction.Archbishop Lefebvre made the same mistake. So Vatican Council II became a rupture with Traditionfor him.The same Vatican Council II is not a rupture with the Tradition for the blogger(Lionel) who avoids the premise.
If Maike Hickson is told that the Council of Trent, Catechsim of Pìus X and Mystici Corporis 3 among other magisterial documents mention BOD, BOB and I.I as being exceptions to EENS, tell them at the Vatican that this is not true. These documents only mention BOD, BOB and I.I. They do not state that they are visible and known cases, for them to be exceptions to EENS. This has to be wrongly inferred. When BOD, BOB and I.I are considered invisible and unknown then they cannot be explicit exceptions to EENS.So again the false premise is used in the interpretation of BOD, BOB and I.I by Pope Benedict and the cardinals and bishops in general. This error has spread like the Arian heresy did in the past. This was the mistake in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 which is now official in the Church.
If it said that someone in the past could have been saved outside the Church(St. Emerentiana , St.Victor, St.XYZ) then tell them at the Vatican that a theoretical possibility in the past cannot be a known exception to the dogma EENS.A possibility is not a real case.A possibility in the past cannot be a practical exception to all needing to be incorporated into the Church as members for salvation in for example,2017.
Also who could have seen St.Emerentiana in the past in Heaven with or without the baptism of water? This is human speculation and it should not be linked to EENS.
So then why did they say in the past that  BOD, BOB and I.I were exceptions to EENS? Since they wanted to eliminate the dogma EENS.
They were assisted by Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II,knowingly or unknowingly. Cardinal Ratzinger called  outside the Church no salvation an 'aphorism' ( Catechism of the Catholic Church 846) even though Pope Pius XII called it an 'infallible teaching'(1949 Letter of the Holy Office).
Dr.Maike Hickson could ask the cardinals and bishops, her sources,  these two questions.

1.The baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance are references to physically invisible people in 2017. We cannot meet or see any one as such. They are not personally known people?

2.Lumen Gentium 16 (invincible ignorance),Lumen Gentium 8,people outside the Church allegedly saved with ( 'elements of sanctification and truth'), Unitatis Redintigratio 3( imperfect communion with the Church) etc are references to hypothetical cases, theoretical possibilites ? They are noy personally known people ?.
When they respond with the expected "Yes", it is enough.
She could then write that BOD, BOB and I.I along with LG 16, LG 8, UR 3 etc refer to hypothetical cases, they are not known people saved outside the Church. So they are not exceptions to the dogma EENS, according to the cardinal and bishops who have made this common sense observation.
So how could Vatican Council II contradict EENS as it was known to the magisterium and missionaries of the 16th century? It does not.
Pope Benedict made a mistake in the Avvenire interview last year. The new 'ideology' on salvation has to be rejected.

Everything hinges on visible baptism of desire : correct the premise and change the Council

http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.it/2017/07/everything-hinges-on-visible-baptism-of.html

TERMS EXPLAINED

Feeneyism: It is the old theology and philosophical reasoning which says there are no known exceptions past or present, to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).There are no explicit cases to contradict the traditional interpretation of EENS.It affirms traditional EENS like the missionaries and magisterium of the 16th century.
Cushingism: It is the new theology and philosophical reasoning, which assumes there are known exceptions, past and present, to the dogma EENS.There are exceptions to all needing to be incorporated into the Church for salvation. It wronly assumes that the baptism of desire etc are not hypothetical but objectively known. In principle hypothetical cases are objective in the present times. So it uses the false premise to reject the traditional interpretation of EENS.
Irrational premise: It is assuming hypothetical cases are not hypothetical but instead are objective cases in the present times.
It assumes invisible and unknown people are visible and unknown in our reality.
Baptism of Desire ( premise-free): It refers to the hypothetical case of an unknown catechumen who desires the baptism of water but dies before he receives it and is saved. Since this is an invisible case in our reality it, the baptism of desire, is not relevant to the dogma EENS.
Baptism of Desire (with the false premise): It refers to the known case of a catechumen who desires the baptism of water but dies before he receives it and is saved.A known person is assumed to be known.
Invincible Ignorance ( premise-free): This refers to the hypothetical case of someone allegedly saved without the baptism of water in the Catholic Church, since he was in ignorance.Since it is a hypothetical case it is not an exception to the dogma EENS.The false premise was not used.
Invincible Ignorance (with the false premise): This refers to the explicit case of someone allegedly saved without the baptism of water in the Catholic Church, since he was in ignorance.Since it is an exception to the dogma EENS it is assumed to be objectively known in particular cases. This reasoning is irrational.
Council of Florence: One of the three Councils which defined the dogma EENS.It did not mention any exception. It did not mention the baptism of desire. It was premise-free.
Liberal theologians: They re-interpreted the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance, as objective cases, known in the present times. They used the false premise.
Vatican Council II (with the premise): It refers to the interpretation of Vatican Council II without the false premise.LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc refer not to hypothetical but known cases in the present times. So Vatican Council II emerges as a break with the dogma EENS.
Vatican Council II ( premise-free):It refers to the interpretation of Vatican Council II without the false premise.LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc refer to hypothetical cases, which are unknown personally in the present times. So Vatican Council II is not a break with EENS, the Syllabus of Errors, ecumenism of return, the Nicene Creed ( premise-free),the teaching on the Social Reign of Christ the King over all political legislation and the non separation of Church and State( since all need to convert into the Church to avoid Hell).
Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston:(with the false premise) It assumed hypothetical cases were defacto known in the present times. So it presented the baptism of desire etc as an explicit exception, to the traditional interpretation of the dogma EENS.It censured Fr.Leonard Feeney and the St.Benedict Center.Since they did not assume that the baptism of desire referred to a visible instead of invisible case. The Letter made the baptism of desire etc relevant to EENs.From the second part of this Letter has emerged the New Theology. It used the false premise.
Letter of the Holy Office 1949 ( premise-free). It means interpreting the first part of the  the Letter without the false premise.Only the first part.It supports Fr. Leonard Feeney of Boston. The traditional interpretatiion of the dogma EENS does not mention any exceptions. However the second part of the Letter contradicts the first part since it uses the false premise.
Letter of the Holy Office ( with the false premise). The second part of the Letter rejects the traditional interpretation of EENS. Since it considers the baptism of desire ( with the premise) and being saved in invincible ignorance ( with the premise) as being exceptions to EENS (premise-free). In other words they are mistaken for being visible and known cases when they really are invisible for us.It wrongly assumes hypothetical cases are objectively visible and so they are exceptions to the first part of the Letter.
Baltimore Catechism: It assumed that the desire for the baptism of an unknown catechumen, who dies before receiving it and was saved, was a baptism like the baptism of water. So it was placed in the Baptism Section of the catechism. In other words it was wrongly assumed that the baptism of desire is visible and repeatable like the baptism of water or that we can administer it like the baptism of water. The Baltimore Catechism is accepted with the confusion. It can be interpreted premise-free.
Catechism of Pope X: It followed the Baltimore Catechism and placed the baptism of desire in the Baptism Section. It can be interpreted as being premise -free. The references to invincible ignorance etc have to be interpreted without the false premise. So it does not contradict the dogma EENS( premise-free).
Nicene Creed ( with the premise): It says 'I believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins' and means there are more than three known baptisms when the false premise is used in the interpretation. They are water, blood, desire, seeds of the Word etc. This is an irrational but common understanding.
Nicene Creed ( premise-free): It says 'I believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and means there is one known baptism the baptism of water.

New Theology: : (with the premise) It refers to the new theology in the Catholic Church based on hypothetical cases being objective in the present times. So it eliminates the dogma EENS.With the dogma EENS made obsolete the ecclesiology of the Church changes. There is a new ecclesiology which is a break with Tradition. It is of course based on the false premise.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus ( with the false premise). It refers to the dogma but with exceptions. All do not need to defacto convert into the Church in the present times, since there are exceptions. The baptism of desire( with the premise), baptism of blood( with the premise) and being saved in invincible ignorance( with the premise) are exceptions to dogma as it was known to the missionaries in the 16th century.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus ( premise-free): It refers to the dogma as it was interpreted over the centuries. There are no known exceptions to all needing to formally enter the Church, with faith and baptism, to avoid Hell.Invisible for us baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance are not visible exceptions to all needing to be incorporated into the Catholic Church for salvation.
Catechism of the Catholic Church ( with the premise): CCC 1257 contradicts the Principle of Non Contraduction. Also CCC 848 is based on the new theology and so is a rupture with the dogma EENS( premise-free). So this is an interpretation of the Catechism with the false premise.
Catechism of the Catholic Church ( premise-free): CCC 1257 does not contradict the Principle of Non Contradiction since there are no known exceptions to all needing the baptism of water for salvation. There are no known cases in the present times of God not being not limited to the Sacraments(CCC1257).
When CCC 846 states all who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church,CCC 846 does not contradict the dogmatic teaching on all needing to formally enter the Church. It is a reference to a hypothetical case and not somebody known. CCC 846 does not contradict Ad Gentes 7 which states all need faith and baptism for salvation.

Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unam Sanctam, 1302.)
“The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.” (
Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441.)
Instead they assume  hypothetical references in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Vatican Council II and the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 are non hypothetical and are examples of objective cases, known people saved outside the Church. So these documents become a rupture with Tradition when they really are not.

EXAMPLES OF THE HYPOTHETICAL REFERENCES IN THE CATECHISM FOR THEM WHICH ARE NOT HYPOTHETICAL.
1. 'God is not limited to the Sacraments'(CCC 1257)
'2.all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body'(CC(CCC 846).
3. Those 'justified by faith in Baptism are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians'(CCC 818).
4. They are 'joined in many ways to the baptized who are honored by the name of Christian, but do not profess the Catholic faith in its entirety or have not preserved unity or communion under the successor of Peter."(CCC 838).
5. 'the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims'(CCC 841).

EXAMPLES OF HYPOTHETICAL REFERENCES IN VATICAN COUNCIL II FOR THEM WHICH ARE NOT HYPOTHETICAL.
1. 'elements of sanctification and truth'in other religions(LG 8),
2..'good and holy' things in other religions(NA 2),
3..'a ray of that Truth which enlightens' all men(NA 2),
4.'imperfect communion with the Church(UR 3),
5.' people of good will in other religions'(GS 22),
6.' seeds of the Word'(AG 11),
7.'invincible ignorance'(LG 16),
8.'a good conscience'(LG 16) etc.

HYPOTHETICAL REFERENCES IN THE LETTER OF THE HOLY OFFICE 1949 TO THE ARCHBISHOP OF BOSTON WHICH FOR THEM ARE NOT HYPOTHETICAL.

1.Therefore, no one will be saved who, knowing the Church to have been divinely established by Christ, nevertheless refuses to submit to the Church or withholds obedience from the Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ on earth.(we do not know who this person is in particular so it is a hypothetical case.)

2.In His infinite mercy God has willed that the effects, necessary for one to be saved, of those helps to salvation which are directed toward man's final end, not by intrinsic necessity, but only by divine institution, can also be obtained in certain circumstances when those helps are used only in desire and longing.(we do not know any one in particular as such so this is a hypothetical case.)

3.Therefore, that one may obtain eternal salvation, it is not always required that he be incorporated into the Church actually as a member, but it is necessary that at least he be united to her by desire and longing.( if there is any such person he or she would only be known to God. So this passage is irrelevant to the dogma EENS. It cannot be an exception.Since it is a reference to an invisible person for us.)

4.However, this desire need not always be explicit, as it is in catechumens; but when a person is involved in invincible ignorance God accepts also an implicit desire, so called because it is included in that good disposition of soul whereby a person wishes his will to be conformed to the will of God.(it is a reference to an unknown catechumen)

5.For in this letter the Sovereign Pontiff clearly distinguishes between those who are actually incorporated into the Church as members, and those who are united to the Church only by desire.( and we do not know any in particular. So this is a theoretical and hypothetical reference) -Lionel Andrades
