You may be wondering how to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Well, I’ve put together the steps for you right here.

Here are the steps of how to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet:

Step 1 – Using a regular set of Rosary beads, you begin at the cross by doing the sign of the cross.
(Optional Opening Prayer)
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
(Repeat three times)
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
Step 2 – On the three beads of the rosary pray the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Apostles Creed.
Step 3 – You begin each decade with the Our Father beads by praying this prayer:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
Step 4 – Complete the decade on the 10 Hail Mary beads by praying this prayer:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each decade on the rosary beads
Step 5 – Once you have prayed all 5 decades, you finish the Chaplet by praying the following prayer 3 times:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
(Optional Closing Prayer)
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.
This Chaplet is a very powerful prayer. It can be prayed at any time, but it is often prayed within the context of the Divine Mercy Novena.

Monsignor Ignacio Barreiro-Carámbula, RIP

Monsignor Ignacio Barreiro-Carámbula, RIP (A Priest Forever, According to the Order of Melchizedek) Featured

Written by Dr. John C. Rao

Monsignor Barreiro, RIPMonsignor Barreiro, RIP

Monsignor Ignacio Barreiro-Carámbula, the chaplain of the Roman Forum, long time head of the Rome Bureau of Human Life International, and dear, dear friend ended his earthly pilgrimage to God at 2:00 A.M. today, Holy Thursday. His soul follows that of another dear friend, John Vennari, into Purgatory and---God willing---as swiftly as possible into Heaven. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ cannot but deal as mercifully as possible with both of these good, good men.

To give you just a bit of information about my beloved friend, Monsignor was born on October 22nd 1947 in Montevideo, Uruguay. After obtaining a doctorate in Law in Montevideo, he joined the foreign service of his country. From 1978 to 1983 he was a member of the delegation of Uruguay to the U.N. In 1983 he entered the Dunwoodie Seminary in New York and was ordained a priest by Cardinal John O’Connor on November 14th 1987, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City.

In New York at the same time that he worked in a parish, he was involved with the Pro-Life apostolate. In 1991 he entered the University of the Holy Cross in Rome, obtaining his license in 1993 and his doctorate in Theology in 1997 with a dissertation on The Experience of God and of the Faith in God according to St. Thomas Aquinas. He was fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Italian. In September 1998 Msgr. Barreiro was appointed Director of the HLI Rome Office, which was inaugurated on November of that same year, with the blessings of Pope John Paul II.

That is what there is to say about him “officially”. But that does not tell you Don Ignacio’s full story, which I am going to relate to you now, not necessarily in the most elegant form, because I want to say this quickly and I am, as you may well imagine, a bit upset.

It is appropriate that he died on Holy Thursday, the Birthday of the Priesthood, because he was a heart-and-soul, 24/7 priest. He always wanted to be a priest, but certain circumstances propelled him into a legal career, one which involved him in very serious anti-communist labors in his native country, and then into diplomatic service. I met him thanks to an even closer friend of Don Ignacio, Fr. Richard Munkelt, who is now the main chaplain of the Roman Forum, taking our departed comrade’s place. This was when he was working for Uruguay at the United Nations.

Don Ignacio loved his country, but he loved his Savior more. I know that it is hard for non New Yorkers to believe how much those of us attached to this strange city feel about her, but it was appropriate that Monsignor Barreiro’s vocation got the better of him in this town to which he also gave his heart and soul.

Monsignor was one of the most intelligent men I know, and one with an aesthetic sense that did not brook foolish things lightly. It did not take long after he became a priest for him to know that he needed to be one “according to the order of Melchizedek” in the service of the Traditional Liturgy. Good theologian that he was, he never dreamed of denying the legitimacy of the Novus Ordo; he simply knew which form of worship was superior.

Everyone who knew and loved Don Ignacio knows that he was a soldier in every field that he entered. He was a Soldier of Christ. He was a Commando of Christ. He fought for the Old Mass. He fought for the fullness of the Catholic Teaching, every iota of every doctrine. He fought for the souls of all who came to him for help. He dropped everything—everything—for anyone who needed spiritual help. Knowing that my father-in-law was near death a good number of years ago, he begged my wife to tell him the moment that she knew. That moment turned out to be 3 in the morning Rome time, and Monsignor got out of bed, vested, and said mass for him “on the double”.

In addition to being one of the most intelligent and aesthetically aware men that I have ever known, Don Ignacio was also one of the most humorous, amusing, and individual. Why? As we believers know---and non-believers can never grasp---this was because he was a Catholic, and Catholicism breeds true personality.

Please pray for this good and faithful servant of God, whose endless work in endless ways, both in the United States and in Rome, has been totally unsung. He did more for the Cause than people outside his close circle of friends can imagine. He will do even more for all of us still trudging through this valley of tears when he makes it into the Company of the Saints.

Fr. Edward Pushparaj suspended for criticizing Administration of Pope Francis on Islam and Amoris Laetitia

Edward Pushparaj Brave Priest Suspended for Criticizing the Administration of Pope Francis on Islam and Amoris Laetitia

Edward Pushparaj at his Deaconal Ordination by the Archbishop of
Pescara. Because of criticism leveled against Pope Francis, the recently ordained priest
from India was supsended
(Rome) He, a Catholic priest, criticized Pope Francis on the last Palm Sunday in his homily - and was suspended.
According to Il Pescara of 10 April, Palm Sunday Mass in the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua in the town of Montesilvano in the Abruzzi in Italy came to grief. In the parish, the Indian priest, Edward Arulrai Pushparaj has been serving for some time. Don Pushparaj had already worked as a deacon in the parish. Already in the past he had criticized the office of Pope Francis. He did so in his sermon on Palm Sunday.
The priest had described "Pope Bergoglio, as an evil for the Church," according to the daily newspaper, referring to eye witnesses. The Indian criticized the "extreme openness to dialogue" with regard to positions and persons who represent positions that are openly contradictory to the doctrine of the Church. In particular, the priest criticized the "willingness to dialogue with Islam." His criticism also against the post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia was "hard".
Msgr. Tommaso Valentinetti, Archbishop of Pescara-Penne, was informed about the content of the sermon. This required enlightenment from the local pastor, Don Antonio Del Casale. The preaching had to serve the "meditation of the readings of the day, and certainly not to give personal judgments, especially if they were not in communion with the Pope," the archbishop said. "I think it is right to give the priest a time of rest and free him from his present obligations. It is certain that priestly ministry in the Catholic Church presupposes communion with the Holy Father." [LOL]
The archbishop also announced: "I intend to visit the parish of St Anthony of Padua at Easter, to take care of their sorrows."
The complaint against the Indian priest had been presented by the faithful to the Archbishop, as the daily newspaper had shown through. Some of the faithful even accuse the priest of "raising his voice to criticism" on the sidelines of his sermons.
Don Edward Arulrai Pushparaj was ordained priest in 2013 by his local bishop, Archbishop Antony Pappusamy of Madurai, but sent to the "sister diocese" of Pescara-Penne. Don Pushparaj comes from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He had already begun his theological studies in India and then continued at the papal universities in Rome.

Sweden: Feminists running away from no-go zones

By

Feminists in Stockholm are leaving areas like the notorious migrant-heavy no-go zones of Husby and Tensta because they say religious fundamentalists now rule those suburbs.
Why aren’t these feminists wearing “vagina hats” as their cohorts do in offensive, aggressive anti-Trump protests in America? Instead, over a thousand protestors in Stockholm busied themselves protesting Trump two months ago, when they should be facing off against misogynist Muslim men and screaming in their faces about Sharia-based discrimination against women and infidels.
Back in December, Sweden listed fifty No-Go Zones, as MP’s clashed over Muslim the migrant crisis and who was responsible for letting them all in, but still:
Swedish economist and author Tino Sanandaji, a Kurdish Iranian immigrant, has been slammed by many in Sweden for his new book Mass Challenge which describes the problems Sweden has faced because of mass migration. One library in Stockholm even refused to stock the book accusing it of being racist
“Swedish Feminists Flee Suburbs Due to Islamic Fundamentalism”, by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart, March 31, 2017:
Feminists in Stockholm are leaving areas like the notorious migrant-heavy no-go zones of Husby and Tensta because they say religious fundamentalists now rule those suburbs.
Nalin Pekgul is a self-described feminist and former member of parliament for the left wing Swedish Social Democrats. For over 30 years, she lived in the Stockholm suburb of Tensta but says that she no longer feels safe there. She claims Muslim fundamentalists have taken over and she doesn’t feel she can visit the centre of Tensta without being harassed, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.
According to Ms. Pekgul, the situation for women in public life in the area has deteriorated over the past several years. She noted that there has been a rise in religious fundamentalism amongst the men in the area, many of whom come from migrant backgrounds. Pekgul attempted to combat the trend by organising coffee shop meetings but soon abandoned the idea.
“In Tensta I am a known face and I have no desire to stir up trouble when I get harassed,” Pekgul said explaining why she no longer goes into the centre of the suburb. When asked if she will remain in the suburb, she said: “I always hope that it will blow over. One should never forget that the vast majority here are cursing the fundamentalists.”
Zeliha Dagli, a former Left Party politician, did end up moving from the no-go suburb of Husby. Dagli described Husby as having self-appointed “morality police” who attempt to control women’s behaviour in the area.
Aggression toward feminists, in particular, became an issue she said. “There were rumours that we wanted to take away women’s veils,” she said. “They said that I should keep myself, and then I did not feel so safe anymore.”
Dagli now lives in the inner city area of Stockholm and says she is happier that she can wear or say what she wants without fearing for her safety. She said she would consider returning to Husby, but only if the area became safer for her.
Husby, like the no-go suburb of Rinkeby, is heavily populated by migrants, many of them from countries in Africa and the Middle East and many of them Muslim. In May of last year, a Norwegian film crew was attacked by a group of locals in Husby while they were attempting to interview Swedish economist and author Tino Sanandaji.
Sanandaji, a Kurdish Iranian immigrant, has been slammed by many in Sweden for his new book Mass Challenge which describes the problems Sweden has faced because of mass migration. One library in Stockholm even refused to stock the book accusing it of being racist…..

Florida: Christian student reinstated after college finds Muslim prof lied that he threatened her

By

What? A Muslim lying about an act of hate being committed against her? Why, it’s unprecedented!
“Polston Reinstated After Muslim Professor’s Claims Debunked By Rollins,” by Jacob Engels, Central Florida Post, March 31, 2017:
A thorough investigation by Rollins College determined that Marshall Polston did nothing wrong, despite outlandish claims from his Professor Areej Zufari.
Last week, Central Florida Post broke the national story about Marshall Polston being suspended by Rollins College for vehemently disagreeing with his professor.
We showed how her story of Polston threatening her was incorrect. We showed that Polston was doing what any college student should do, disagreeing with his professor and questioning what seemed like a retaliatory grade.
We said Polston did not deserve to be suspended.
In response, we were lambasted by liberal websites. We were called obscenities on Facebook. Even the Orlando Sentinel got in on the act, with their star columnist, Scott Maxwell, calling us a “blogger” and “fake news.”
Just like when we were ostracized for scooping the mainstream media with Jeff Ashton’s Ashley Madison troubles and Ray Valdes’ profiting from his office, it has now been proven that we were correct again and the mainstream media is stuck looking foolish.
Rollins College, after a long and careful investigation, in a letter obtained by Central Florida Post, concluded that Polston did not violate the schools code of conduct and that he was not verbally, physically or mentally threatening….

Australia: Muslims slam imam as “fake Muslim” for opposing Sharia and obeying Australian law

Australia: Muslims slam imam as “fake Muslim” for opposing Sharia and obeying Australian law

Here is yet another installment in our periodic series: why we don’t see more genuine Muslim reformers.
“‘I’m considered fake because I would die for Australia’: Imam slams extremists who claim he’s a fraud for following Australian law over Sharia and not wanting a Muslim state,” by Kate Darvall, Daily Mail Australia, April 1, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A Muslim leader has slammed extremists who claim he is a fraud for following Australian law over Sharia and not wanting to form an independent Muslim state.
Imam Shaikh Mohammad Tawhidi, who has openly spoken out against ISIS and extremists, confronted members of the Islamic community in a video shared online on Friday.
Imam Tawhidi said he was labelled a ‘fake’ Shaikh because he prioritised Australian law over Sharia law.
‘I am considered a fake because I would die for Australia. I am considered a fake because I live by the Australian constitution,’ he said.
‘I am considered a fake because I glorify the Australian flag.
‘I am considered a fake because I reject Sharia law and live by the Australian law.’
In the four minute-long video, Imam Tawhidi listed various reasons for why he had been called ‘a fake’ by members of the Muslim community in Australia.
‘They have called me a fake Muslim Imam or a Shaikh only because I expose their intentions to create a caliphate within Australia,’ he said.
‘I am considered a fake because I condemn terrorism. I am considered a fake because I oppose and expose extremism.’
‘They have called me a fake Muslim Imam or a Shaikh only because I expose their intentions to create a caliphate within Australia,’ Imam Tawhidi said
He defended himself claiming he was legitimate and only accused of being a fraud because he did not serve a radical Islamic agenda.
‘For them, I am too Australian,’ he said.
The Muslim leader said he rejected controversial Sharia law to live by the Australian law ‘because I am an Australian Muslim and not a Muslim Australian’.
‘I want an Islam that is compatible with the west,’ he said….

“Jihad has constituted nothing less than a central pillar of Pakistani grand strategy”

“Jihad has constituted nothing less than a central pillar of Pakistani grand strategy”

“[J]ihad has constituted nothing less than a central pillar of Pakistani grand strategy,” writes Naval Postgraduate School Professor S. Paul Kapur in his new book Jihad as Grand Strategy: Islamist Militancy, National Security, and the Pakistani State. This insightful case study illuminates how Pakistan’s Islamic Republic has pursued politics by means of Islamic proxies that are perpetrating faith-based violence, a phenomenon with immense implications for South Asia and beyond.
Kapur notes the Pakistani eye in the contemporary jihadist storm, as post-Cold War “one recurring theme concerning terrorism is strikingly clear: A disproportionate amount of it has been linked to Islamist militants based in Pakistan.” This includes Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and Osama bin Laden’s numerous Pakistani connections to Al Qaeda’s September 11, 2001, attacks. Yet this is nothing new: “From 1947 to the present day, Pakistan has used religiously motivated non-state actors as strategic tools to confront stronger adversaries and shape its strategic environment without the costs and risks of direct combat.”
Kapur traces the origins of Pakistan’s linkage with jihadist religious warfare to the 1947 partition of British India into the independent states of Muslim-majority Pakistan and Hindu-majority India. “Pakistan suffered from material and domestic political weakness so severe that it threatened the new state’s viability” amidst disparate ethnicities in what had been British India’s neglected frontier regions. Accordingly, Pakistan’s leaders ultimately decided that “Pakistan would need to become a Muslim state; it could not simply serve as a secular state for Muslims.” The “new country would have to become a state based on a concept meaningful to the majority of ordinary Pakistanis, regardless of their ethnic, economic, or geographical interests or backgrounds.”
With this founding state ideology, “all South Asian Muslims constituted a single nation of the faithful,” including Kashmir, India’s only Muslim-majority province and a territory contested by the two states along their border, Kapur observes. Therefore Pakistan’s creation was a “fundamentally revisionist project, opposed to the territorial status quo in South Asia.” Yet “Pakistani leaders believed that such a negative identity, focused on opposition to so-called Hindu India, would most effectively unify the country.”
Kapur details how Pakistani authorities have employed Islamic ideology to inspire jihadist guerilla groups in successive campaigns to “liberate” Kashmir from Indian control, including the 1947 and 1965 Indo-Pakistani wars. India currently deploys about 400,000 security personnel in Kashmir to combat an insurgency that “has lasted nearly three decades and cost India more blood and treasure than all of its other wars combined.” “At the diplomatic level, the Kashmir dispute remains on the agenda of the international community, despite India’s claim that it is a solely bilateral issue.”
Kapur also analyzes how Pakistan has used jihadist proxies across its western border in Afghanistan in order to establish friendly regimes there. Pakistan had already been supporting such proxies in their struggles against disfavored Afghan governments during the 1970s when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979. “From the beginning, the Pakistanis had viewed the Afghan war not simply as a danger, but also as an opportunity.”
When the United States and others subsequently supported through Pakistan Afghan guerillas fighting the Soviets, Kapur notes that “Pakistan insisted on serving as the exclusive link between international aid donors and the mujahideen.” With little oversight, “Pakistanis were able to divert considerable resources — one estimate puts the amount at 30 percent or more — away from the war to other uses,” such as supporting Kashmiri jihadists. Pakistan’s ruling dictator, General Zia-ul-Haq, “reportedly referred in private to the war in Afghanistan as ‘the Kashmir jihad.’”
Pakistan’s control over aid to the mujahideen would create other unintended consequences for the United States, Kapur notes. “The Pakistanis ensured that the most hardline Islamist groups…received the lion’s share of the assistance.” Therefore, “US efforts to combat the Soviets in Afghanistan during the 1980s inadvertently supported Islamists whom the US would have to fight post-9/11.”
Following the Soviet Union’s 1989 withdrawal from Afghanistan, Kapur examines how Pakistan gave extensive military and economic aid to the Taliban. Pakistan was also the first state in 1997 to recognize the Taliban as Afghanistan’s legitimate rulers. He thus concludes that the Taliban consolidation of power by 2000 “could not have occurred without Pakistani backing.”
Kapur examines numerous cases of Pakistani subterfuge in response to foreign pressures to eliminate the dangers posed by Pakistan’s jihadist proxies, particularly after 9/11. The “Pakistanis ultimately managed to have it both ways in Afghanistan” and were able to “hoodwink the United States, purportedly supporting the US campaign against the Taliban while continuing to aid and protect their Taliban allies.” Meanwhile, Pakistan received large amounts of American aid, approximating $24 billion between 2002 and 2012.
Such advantages of Pakistan’s jihad strategy are merely one side of Pakistan’s “jihad paradox,” Kapur warns. “Political and material weakness originally made Pakistan’s militant policy attractive and useful. Now, however, that same weakness makes Pakistan’s support for militancy extremely dangerous.” Jihad abroad like the devastating Pakistan-based November 2008 attack upon Mumbai is provoking India to modernize its military for quick retaliatory strikes against Pakistan. Jihad at home is meanwhile destabilizing, as a Taliban offshoot, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, has shown with an insurgency in Waziristan that has tied down 150,000 Pakistani troops.
Irrespective of American actions like sanctions, Kapur emphasizes that Pakistani abandonment of jihad will require revolutionary change analogous to the Soviet empire’s dissolution under Mikhail Gorbachev. Pakistan facing India “resembles a fish that cannot stop swimming. It must continue to move in an oppositional direction if it is to survive in its current ideological form.” “Reconsidering jihad would thus require an intellectual reformulation of the Pakistani state.”
As Kapur noted at a recent Washington, DC, Heritage Foundation presentation, his analysis of Pakistan is also applicable to other states like Pakistan’s neighbor Iran. Nuclear proliferation in this fellow jihadist state would allow Iran to emulate Pakistan by combining a nuclear deterrent with proxies like Hezbollah. Such developments make Kapur’s concise book all the more necessary for policymakers and the general public.

Pakistan: Muslims murder Christian in the street because he refused to work on Sunday

Pakistan: Muslims murder Christian in the street because he refused to work on Sunday

Noman was a simple sanitary worker and had no enmity with anyone. His refusal to clean the Muslim’s dera [outhouse] apparently led to his killing.
The plight of Pakistani Christians was discussed last summer at the European Union headquarters in Brussels, amid rising escalations of violence against Christians in Pakistan, but no action ensured.
Rev. Dr. Russell Barr, Moderator of the Church of Scotland, has stated “that the perpetrators of Christian persecution are being cushioned by the police” in Pakistan.
Violence against Christians by Muslims who justify it by reference to Islamic texts and teachings is greeted globally with complacency and silence.
“Pakistani Christian killed in the street had refused to work on a Sunday”, by Joseph Hartropp, Christian Today, March 30, 2017:
A young Christian in Pakistan was shot and killed in the street allegedly for refusing the demands of an influential Muslim that he work on a Sunday, his day off.
Noman Munir Masih, 20 lived in Sheikhupura in Punjab Province, working in a local sanitation department. He was on his way to work with his brother-in-law and uncle on March 20 when he was attacked and killed, according to Morning Star News.
‘They were about to leave after dropping off Noman when suddenly two motorcyclists arrived there,’ Norman’s mother Khalida Bibi said.
‘One of them whipped out a pistol and opened fire on Noman, killing him instantly.’ Bibi said her family was in shock at their loss.
Norman was the primary provider for his Pentecostal Christian family after his father died two years ago. Through his work he supported his mother, three brothers and two sisters. A local Muslim man named Daanu Chaddar has been arrested in connection with the case.

An attorney for the family, Kashif Naimet, said Chaddar threatened Masih after he refused to sweep his outhouse on Sunday, Masih’s day off.
Naimet said: ‘Ostensibly angered by the Christian’s refusal to submit to his demand, Chaddar allegedly told Noman to be ready to face “dire consequences”, as he will not take no for an answer from a petty sanitary worker. Chaddar reportedly threatened Noman that he would “Cut off his legs and riddle his body with bullets” for defying his order.’
Naimet added: ‘Noman was a simple sanitary worker and had no enmity with anyone. His refusal to clean the Muslim’s dera [outhouse] apparently led to his killing.’
Rights advocates say many Muslims in Pakistan mistreat Christians as they are a minority community with minimal power or status. Many in the sanitation profession, a relatively lowly position mostly comprising Christians, find themselves especially degraded.
Riaz Masih Bhatti, president of the Sheikhupura Tehsil Municipal Authority sanitary workers union, said: ‘There have been frequent incidents of prejudice against Christian sanitary workers, but Noman’s murder in a brazen attack in broad daylight has sent a wave of shock and panic in the entire community.’
Christian rights activist Napolean Qayyum said: ‘Many Muslims find it hard to accept refusal by a “lowly” Christian. This is not the first time a Christian sanitary worker has been killed or subjected to violence for refusing to comply with unjust demands of persons from the Muslim majority….

Italy: Mosque frequented by Muslims who plotted jihad massacre ordered to shut down

Italy: Mosque frequented by Muslims who plotted jihad massacre ordered to shut down

It is quite possible that these jihadis were incited to plot mass murder in this mosque.
“Mestre mosque ordered to shut down,” ANSA, April 7, 2017 (thanks to Insubria):
(ANSA) – Venice, April 7 – A Mestre mosque frequented by three Kosovars allegedly planning to bomb Venice’s Rialto Bridge has been given three days to close, sources said Friday.
The order was handed to the Bangladeshi clerics who run the mosque, informing them that its activity did not comply with its official use.
The Kosovar jihadists, who lived in central Venice, were arrested last month after a probe in which they were taped allegedly saying it would be easy to find paradise by bombing Venice “because of all the Christians here”.
