Bishop Donald Sanborn and the sedevacantist Most Holy Trinity seminary in Florida, USA need to review their position on Feeneyism and Vatican Council II as expressed on their website.1 The issue is related.Their position on both these issues is obsolete.
Their philosophical error on Feeneyism, is repeated in their interpretation of Vatican Council II.
We now know that the Holy Office 1949 made an objective mistake when it assumed that the baptism of desire case, is visible, when it really always was invisible for us. So objectively there could be no objective exception to the Feeneyite interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
The same mistake was made in 1960-1965 by the magisterium and so Vatican Council II emerges as a break with Tradition. The Council is a break with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, the Syllabus of Errors, the old ecclesiology, the teachings on the Social Reign of Christ etc. However this is the conclusion which makes the sedevacantists state that Vatican Council II has a rupture with the past. This is not the specific cause of the rupture. It is the conclusion, I repeat.
The specific cause for this conclusion, was the use of a false premise. The false premise has created this non traditional and heretical conclusion which the traditionalists correctly reject.
The false premise can be avoided and then Vatican Council II is not a rupture with Tradition.
So the material on Vatican Council II on the seminary website is obsolete. It is based on the false premise.
Vatican Council II can also be interpreted without this irrational premise and the conclusion is orthodox. The seminary needs to respond to these blog posts and remove the obsolete material.
This could be difficult.Since it would be saying that the traditionalists and sedevacantists were wrong all these years on Vatican Council II. They were using the same irrational reasoning as the liberals and the present day magisterium, including the popes whom they criticize. The popes of the past and the present .
This is staggering for some of them. The narrative on Vatican Council II has changed. It is all there before them and they cannot emotionally accept it.-Lionel Andrades
