Pray always? Yes! As the Lord commanded!

One who is religiously “awake” can pray always. Such a person can, as the title of the spiritual classic by Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection suggests, “practice the presence of God.”

Brother Lawrence writes, “The Presence of God is our spirit in contact with God. It is a realization that God is present, made known to us either by the imagination or the understanding.” By means of understanding, we can accept the truth of the concept that we are always in the presence of God. (See
Psalm 139, as well as much of the Confessions of Saint Augustine.) God is omnipresent, therefore, wherever we are, we are standing before God.

By means of the imagination, we can picture ourselves in the constant company of our loving Father, Who delights in His children, always offering His love and guidance. I think it is especially fruitful to make such a use of our imagination. So many Christians I meet conduct themselves as spiritual orphans, living in a world that offers them no provision or protection. Sadder, perhaps, are those Christians who think of themselves as before the constant presence of the Divine Tyrant, Who must always be appeased, and Whose Love must be earned—if it can be had at all.

If we are to pray always, as Jesus said, we must learn to live in the presence of God, Who is our loving Father Who wants the best for us. We must learn to be open to a mysticism of immediacy, that is, we must be open to and alert for God’s revelation of Himself at each moment and in every circumstance. God does not stop working in creation and God does not stop speaking to creation. If only our eyes and hearts were open to see Him.

Of course, that finding of God in the thick of things, including daily busy-ness, times of crisis, seasons of joy and of sorrow, must be complemented by a rhythm of withdrawal from the fray so that we can be alone with God Who is with us always. This is what Jesuits mean when we speaking of God calling us to be “
contemplatives in action.”

The only good prayer is to pray always. At every moment, even in the most chaotic and unlikely moments, God is at work and can be found. That openness to finding God at every moment must be strengthened and refreshed by the freedom necessary to withdraw ourselves, as circumstances allow, so that we may have time alone with the Lord. We may always draw near to God, always and everywhere, but the wisdom of the saints and Scriptures teaches us that sometimes, to draw near to God, we must withdraw from the world, at least for a while.

Pray better? Not really. Pray more? Sometimes. Pray always? Yes! As the Lord commanded!

IHM schools teaching error

"The Chapel resounded with the hymns for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament!"
The IHM schools of the communities of Fr.Leonard Feeney, in the dioceses of Worcester and Manchester,USA are teaching the Marchetti error to Catholic school children. With this irrationality they interpret Vatican Council II as a break with the past. LG 16 becomes an exception to the Feeneyite version of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the religious communities who manage the IHM schools also interpret Vatican Council II (LG 16) as a break with the traditional interpretation of the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church.
"As the band plays, the graduates process in to the Commencement Exercises."
The fault is not with Lumen Gentium 16.The fault lies with  the religious communities and their bishops. The St.Benedict Centers interpret LG 16 as referring to visible cases, instead of invisible for us cases, in the present times. If these cases are invisible for us in 2015, since they are in Heaven, then LG 16 would not be an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus. No one in the USA knows any one who will be saved this month, without 'faith and baptism'. So no one knows of an exception to the dogma. No one knows of someone who has gone to Heaven this month or this year, saved in invincible ignorance with or without the baptism of water.Nor will they know any one in future who will be saved as such.
If there was such a case in the past know human would know of it.
We cannot say that St.Emerentiana or some other saint is in Heaven without the baptism of water, since humanly we do not know. We cannot see or know of an exception since we cannot go to Heaven and confirm and return.
If someone in the Church declares there is a person in Heaven without the baptism of water it would be suspect. Since God could have sent a preacher to teach and baptism that person without our knowing it (St. Thomas Aquinas). Or, God would baptise then after they return from the dead only for the baptism of water.(St. Francis Xavier).
"The Sisters announce the winners and hand out the ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each competition."
So there cannot be any exception in Vatican Council II to the rigorist interpretation of the dogma on salvation.
LG 16 would be referring to a hypothetical possibility for us. They could only be explicit for God.These cases would have to be followed by the baptism of water in the Catholic Church since this is the dogmatic teaching.
With the baptism of desire or without the baptism of desire they are still hypothetical cases for us . So they cannot be relevant or an exception to all needing to become formal members of the Catholic Church, with faith and baptism, to go to Heaven and avoid Hell.

Fr.Pierpaolo Petrucci in heresy?

Fr.Pierpaolo Petrucci in heresy?
The District Superior of the Society of St.Pius X in Italy Fr.Pier Paolo Petrucci is in heresy but for political reasons does not want to address this issue. He does not want to discuss it with the lay members of the local SSPX community ( Fraternita San Pio X).Neither will the priests discuss it or issue a correction.Fr.Petrucci does not want to clash with Bishop Bernard Fellay nor contradict Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.
Archbishop Lefebvre made the mistake of accepting Cardinal Francesco Marchetti Selvaggiani's irrationality and heresy. The error is responsible for the liberal intepretation of Vatican Council II by the SSPX and the liberals.
Without the Marchetti error Vatican Council II is traditional and does not oppose the dogma on salvation defined by three Church Councils. Fr.Petrucci uses the Marchetti heresy to contradict the dogma. He also rejects Vatican Council II. This is heresy.
It is also changing the Nicene Creed's 'I beleive in one baptism for the forgiveness of sin'. The baptism referred to in the Creed is the baptism of water. It is not the baptism of desire, blood or in invincible ignorance(LG 16 ) etc. There is only one visible baptism. It is that of water. There are not three or more known baptisms without the baptism of water.

Our Campaign for Deacon Joseph in India and a Contribution Matcher!

Our Campaign for Deacon Joseph in India and a Contribution Matcher!

Dear Voxers,

Help me to become a Priest & build a dwelling 4 My Parents (Deacon Joice PJ)As you know, there is a little widget running to the left for Deacon Joseph of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in India. Reverend Deacon has been called by Christ to His Holy Priesthood. As the eldest son, he is also taking responsibility for his parents' situation. His parents live in a three walled hut. His father has recovered from tuberculosis but I imagine the rainy tropical seasons are not the best for him. I have posted twice, here and here about the need for funds for Deacon Joseph to complete a small house for his parents before moving on to ordination.

For your assurance, I have personally communicated with his religious superior and his seminary to validate that this is a legitimate need.

You have been wonderful. When I first posted, the amount donated was only $60.00 (U.S funds). As of this writing, the amount is $3,053.00! Our dollars go a lot further in India but a little more is needed to finish the house. By the end of July, $2,000.00 more is needed and Deacon hopes to raise a total of $8,000.00.

There is also another matter that has slowed down the funds. PayPal, which is one of the three services to receive funds through YouCaring, is not providing any further services in India due to regulatory issues or lack thereof and banking concerns as reported by ZDNet. This has caused donations to stop and has become a great worry to Deacon Joseph.

The good news is that a solution has been found.

The Toronto Traditional Mass Society - UNA VOCE TORONTO, has partnered with Deacon Joseph to be the recipient of your donations. The Society is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency and is Chapter of Canada's longest standing member of Foederatio Internationalis Una Voce. The TTMS will receive the funds which you donate to Deacon Joseph at YouCaring from PayPal directly to its Toronto bank account. These funds (100% after the PayPal fee) will then be wired directly to Deacon Joseph's bank account in India. If you are in Canada and you wish to make a direct donation to the Society's seminarian program, you can do so and receive a charitable tax receipt. A grant in the equivalent amount will be made by the Society to Deacon Joseph. For more information on making a direct contribution, you may write to unavocetoronto@gmail.com.

But there is even better news.

A reader and commenter at this blog, The Anonymous Flower, has come forward and has pledged to provide matching contributions dollar for dollar for everything over the $4,000.00 mark! Dollar for dollar. How wonderful!

I know that there is considerable donor fatigue out there but the overall amount needed here is not great. You have been terrific, notwithstanding.

Can we do a little more and push this not only over the $4000.00 where Anonymous Flower has offered to match but all the way to the amount to finish the house and secure his ordination?

Deacon writes, "Please provide my loving regards and prayers to everyone. I don't know how to thank you all. Our dream of home will come true soon."
Know that Deacon Joseph and his family keep his benefactors in their prayers.
