The SSPX must be prepared for the CDF's wrong arguments

The Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) must point out to the Vatican the Marchetti error carried over into Redemptoris Missio, Dominus Iesus and other magisterial documents I mentioned in a previous post 1.
The SSPX General Chapter Statement 2012(GCS) has affirmed extra ecclesiam nullas salus (EENS) with there being no exceptions, while the Marchetti error infers there are explicit exceptions to EENS.
The SSPX should not be asked to accomodate Marchetti's inference in the interpretation of Church-documents, including Vatican Council II.
The SSPX must ask the CDF to clarify that Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the irrational Marchetti inference.
However when the SSPX approaches the CDF they can expect the following arguements. So the SSPX must be prepared.
Firstly Cardinal Gerhard Muller will have to agree that Cardinal Marchetti made a mistake. There should be no problem here.Even a non Catholic would have to agree with this. It is common knowledge. Common sense.
We cannot see the dead in Heaven. This is a given. There were no known cases in 1949 of persons saved without faith and baptism. There was no case of someone saved outside the Church. Also no magisterial document before 1949 made this claim.
They only mentioned being saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire and did not state that these cases were known to us on earth to be exceptions to the strict interpretation of the dogma. So Marchetti made a factual error. There is no way  around this.
However with reference to Vatican Council II Cardinal Muller made the same mistake as Marchetti in an interview given to Edward Pentin for the National Catholic Register. The same stuff. The interview was available on Edward Pentin and the Vatican website but it is no longer there. It is still there on the NCR website.

Cardinal Muller could say  again as he did in the interview,  that :'The Second Vatican Council also said this: Lumen Gentium 14 says: “Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved.” 2 We have to remember that this line comes from Marchetti's factual error. We do not know in 2015 'who knows' or who is in invincible ignorance. This is known only to God.Invisible cases for us cannot be explicit exceptions to the strict interpretation of the dogma.Hypothetical cases cannot be considered objective in 2015.The Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF) made a mistake here.
When the then Archbishop Muller said 'The Second Vatican Council also said this: Lumen Gentium 14 says: “Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved' he was implying that this was an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

The text of LG 14 does not state that these cases are visible to us. Neither does it state that these cases are an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus. This has to be wrongly inferred by Cardinal Muller.

If this was an exception then it was a case known to him personally . Only if it was a known case could it be an exception to every one needing to convert into Church. In other words he could name someone who did not have to enter the Church for salvation. How could he see someone as such when these persons are saved in Heaven? It would be like being able to see an apparition.
How can he know who will be saved without the baptism of water in future? So how could he know of any exception?
So where is the magisterial text which supports the Cardinal Muller when he implies that there are exceptions and so now there is a doctrinal development with regard to extra ecclesiam nulla salus ? None! There is no such text to support his view.He can only fall back on Marchetti's mistake.
He has used the false premise of being able to see the dead- saved and then assumes that this is an exception to Tradition in general and in particular to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

The same mistake was made by Archbishop Augustine Di Noia. 3 On the same tracks.

So the  SSPX could now ask  Archbishop Augustine Di Noia why must they interpret Vatican Council II with an irrational premise to receive full canonical status ? Vatican Council II can be interpreted without assuming that those who are saved with 'elements of sanctification and truth' (LG 8) are explicit, seen in the flesh. How can any of us say that we know of any particular Lutheran or Anglican who is going to be saved without Catholic Faith. How can Archbishop Di Noia say that he knows of someone who is going to be saved  without the Catholic Sacraments and the faith and moral teachings of the Church? This is bad theology. This is not Catholic theology.

The SSPX should not be asked to accomodate Marchetti's inference in the interpretation of Church-documents, including Vatican Council II as was done by Cardinal Muller and Archbishop Di Noia in the interviews with Edward Pentin. Why does the CDF want the SSPX to accept Vatican Council II presuming hypothetical cases are objectively known in the present times?
There is no rational basis for the CDF doctrinally rejecting the General Chapter Statement(GCS) 2012 of the SSPX .The SSPX must not have to approve the visible-dead theory. How can persons in Heaven be explicit exceptions on earth to the de fide teaching expressed in the GCS?
Without the false premise and conclusion expressed in the two interviews given to the National Catholic Register,Vatican Council II is traditional. It is in harmony with the SSPX position on an ecumenism of return and the need for non Christians to formally convert into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell.
The SSPX must ask the CDF to make the first move towards reconciliation and endorse a rational interpretation of Vatican Council II.This would be one without the dead-man walking theory.-Lionel Andrades

NCR:

Do you, nevertheless, accept there’s been a weakening of the Church’s teaching because of this underlying confusion of terminology? One example sometimes cited is that the teaching of “no salvation outside the Church” seems to have become less prominent.

Archbishop Gerhard Muller:

Archbishop Gerhard Muller:That has been discussed, but here, too, there has been a development of all that was said in the Church, beginning with St. Cyprian, one of the Fathers of the Church, in the third century. Again, the perspective is different between then and now. In the third century, some Christian groups wanted to be outside the Church, and what St. Cyprian said is that without the Church a Christian cannot be saved. The Second Vatican Council also said this: Lumen Gentium 14 says: “Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved.” He who is aware of the presence of Revelation is obliged by his conscience to belong publicly — and not only in his conscience, in his heart — to this Catholic Church by remaining in communion with the Pope and those bishops in communion with him.http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/archbishop-mueller-the-church-is-not-a-fortress/#ixzz2VLejK3GH

NCR:
How much is a perceived weakening of the dogma extra Ecclesiam nulla salus (no salvation outside the Church) a major part of the problem, as some traditionalists assert? Has today’s understanding of the dogma contradicted its earlier teaching?
Archbishop Augustine Di Noia:
I don’t know if you can blame this on the Council so much as the emergence of a theological trend that emphasized the possibility of salvation of non-Christians. But the Church has always affirmed this, and it has never denied it. … [Karl] Rahner had a disastrous effect on this with his “anonymous Christianity.” But the Council does not alter the teaching of the Church.
NCR:
And yet they argue it does?
Archbishop Augustine Di Noia:
This is a very good example of two of the things we’ve mentioned: the danger of reading this as it’s been read by Rahner, instead of in the light of the whole Tradition.
NCR:
They claim that salvation is hardly proclaimed anymore.
Archbishop Augustine Di Noia:
Ralph Martin agrees with that. We do have a crisis, because the Church has been infected with the idea that we don’t have to worry or be anxious or we don’t sufficiently take the mandate to proclaim Christ seriously. But it’s not because of Vatican II, but bad theology. That’s why Dominus Iesus was part of the response to all of that theology of religion. There is no question that the necessity of extra Ecclesiam nulla salus has a long history. But they were talking about heretics, not nonbelievers. That formula addresses the problems of heresies. It has its history.
The Council did say there are elements of grace in other religions, and I don’t think that should be retracted. I’ve seen them, I know them — I’ve met Lutherans and Anglicans who are saints.

Meeting needed between Ecclesia Dei/CDF, SSPX,CMRI and others: all agree that the baptism of desire is not an exception to extra ecclesiam nulla salus http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.it/2014/08/meeting-needed-between-ecclesia-deicdf.html

Pope Benedict XVI and Cardinal Luiz Ladaria S.J have made a major doctrinal error. So the position of the Society of St.Pius X should be reviewed http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.it/2014/04/pope-benedict-xvi-and-cardinal-luiz.html

SSPX show the Vatican the Marchetti error carried over into Redemptoris Missio, Dominus Iesus and other magisterial documents

The Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) must point out to the Vatican the Marchetti error carried over into Redemptoris Missio, Dominus Iesus and other magisterial documents.1 I am not an SSPX spokesman. I suggest that they (SSPX) who are  in contact with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF) officials clarify this issue.
Risultati immagini per Photos of SSPX General Chapter Statement 2012
The SSPX General Chapter Statement 2012(GCS) has affirmed extra ecclesiam nullas salus (EENS) with there being no exceptions, while the Marchetti error infers there are explicit exceptions to EENS.
Cardinal Marchetti did not know any one saved outside the Church in 1949  i.e without faith and baptism -  and no magisterial document before 1949 implied this. So there was no basis for his 'new revelation'.
The SSPX should not be asked to accomodate Marchetti's inference in the interpretation of Church-documents, including  Vatican Council II. This is not fair.
When Vatican Council II refers to 'those who know and yet do not enter' the Church (LG 14) it is a reference to people known only to God.
So this cannot be an explicit exception in 2015 to the General Chapter Statement. The GCS  affirmed EENS according to Feeneyism. Those 'who know and do not enter' and 'those in invincible ignorance' are invisible for us in real life, they are irrelevant to EENS.All need to be formal members of the Catholic Church for salvation ( with faith and baptism). We do not know any one saved in invincible ignorance or someone 'who knows' and does not enter the Church and so will be damned.
Why does the CDF want the SSPX to accept Vatican Council II presuming hypothetical cases are objectively known in the present times? Not real!
There is no rational basis for the CDF rejecting the GCS doctrinally. The SSPX must not have to approve the visible-dead theory. How can persons in Heaven be explicit exceptions on earth to the de fide teaching expressed in the GCS?
This is new information for the SSPX too. It  was not known in the SSPX-Vatican talks initiated by Pope Benedict XVI.The Marchetti visible-dead theory was not discussed. Both sides were using theology based on the false premise.
Without this false premise and inference ( the dead-visible are explicit(false premise) and so are explicit  exceptions to the dogma according to Feeneyism(false conclusion) Vatican Council II is traditional.
It is in harmony with the SSPX position on an ecumenism of return and the need for non Christians to formally convert into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell.
Ask the CDF to  make the first move towards reconciliation and endorse a rational interpretation of Vatican Council II.This would be one without the dead-man walking theory.Vatican Council II in a sense would then be different.
So the rules for granting the SSPX full canonical status would also have changed. The Anglican and Opus Dei Ordinariate and the whole Church would affirm a traditional Vatican Council II in line with the strict interpretation of the dogma EENS.
The SSPX must ask the CDF to clarify that Vatican Council II can be interpreted without the irrational Marchetti inference.

SEEK THE VISION OF GOD AND DIRECT ENTRY INTO HEAVEN AND THE SHADOWS OF LIFE WILL FALL AWAY FROM YOU

SEEK THE VISION OF GOD AND DIRECT ENTRY INTO HEAVEN AND THE SHADOWS OF LIFE WILL FALL AWAY FROM YOU
We recently noted a passage from the incredible little booklet, "Unpublished Manuscript on Purgatory," about the highest place there, the last place in that place of purification, which is known, in that booklet, as "the Purgatory of desire which is called the Threshold." It added:
"Very few escape this. To avoid it altogether, one must ardently desire Heaven and the vision of God. That is rare, rarer than people think, because even pious people are afraid of God and have not, therefore, a sufficiently strong desire of going to Heaven."
Let us resolve this Lent to address the issue. Few things could be more important in your life.
It begins with questions to ask yurself, on the desert, these Forty Days.
Do you want God enough?
Do you strive after Him?
Do you want His direct Presence more than anything else -- anything?
Do you think of direct heavenly entry? Are you trying for that -- or just doing enough to avoid darkest purgatory?
"Do not open your heart to every man, but discuss your affairs with one who is wise and who fears God. Do not keep company with young people and strangers," wrote Thomas á Kempis. "Do not fawn upon the rich, and do not be fond of mingling with the great. Associate with the humble and the simple, with the devout and virtuous, and with them speak of edifying things."
We must be "ardent." We must ardently want immediate entry into paradise. Ardent is a telling word. It means to have very, very strong feelings. It means to be passionate, fervent, zealous, fervid, wholehearted, vehement, intense, fierce, and fiery -- on fire for God. passionate, fervent, zealous, fervid, wholehearted, vehement, intense, fierce, fiery.
Are you?
Do you pray and live to avoid something or for something -- SomeOne? When you take Communion, is your mind focused on the God Who created you, Who wants you to be with Him, Who wants your full attention?
Just desire, desire, desire. Desire God. Think of the joy of being in His direct Light. Think of the beauty of where He is. Think of the highest Heaven.
Want it. Want to be with the Ancients who surround His Throne. Seek with all your heart to be alongside Jesus (Who as we know is at the right Hand of the Father).
What are you most passionate about in life? What has consumed you more than anything else? What has caused you to focus on it more than any other thing has caused you to focus? What goal in your life have you worked hardest toward?
Reflect on that and take that fervor and apply it to wanting God.
Apply it to direct entry into Heaven.
Not purgatory, no; not even the highest levels of purgatory. Go for it all.
Aim for Heaven.
Want that enough and all those little things you may be focusing on or bound to will automatically fall from you, and along with it the darkness of earth.

Friday of the Third Week of Lent
Lectionary: 241

Gospel Mk 12:28-34

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,
“Which is the first of all the commandments?”
Jesus replied, “The first is this:
Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength.

The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The scribe said to him, “Well said, teacher.
You are right in saying,
He is One and there is no other than he.
And
to love him with all your heart,
with all your understanding,
with all your strength,
and to love your neighbor as yourself

is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding,
he said to him,
“You are not far from the Kingdom of God.”
And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Pope Francis Asks Churches Worldwide to Offer 24-Hour Confession today

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis is inviting every parish around the world to open its doors for 24 hours this Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, so that the faithful might encounter Jesus Christ anew in the Sacrament of Confession and Eucharistic Adoration.

The Lenten initiative, organized by the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization, is called “24 Hours for the Lord.” It is intended also to be a time of reflection and prayer, an opportunity to speak with a priest, and a chance to rediscover — or perhaps discover for the first time — the great mercy at the heart of the Catholic Faith.

The theme chosen for this year’s initiative, in fact, is “God is rich in mercy” (Eph 2:4).

Dioceses, parishes and communities around the world are invited to adapt the initiative to their local situations and needs. A poster of the event can be downloaded for distribution at www.novaevangelizatio.va.

Pope Francis will open the initiative on March 13 in St. Peter’s Basilica, the second anniversary of his election. He is expected to repeat what he did at last year’s opening, when he surprised the world by publicly going to confession. The Holy Father then spent approximately 40 minutes hearing confessions in the Vatican basilica.

After the opening, several churches in key locations throughout Rome will remain open for 24 hours, with confessors available and Eucharistic Adoration.

Pope Francis spoke of the initiative in his 2015 Message for Lent. “As individuals, we are tempted by indifference,” he wrote. “Flooded with news reports and troubling images of human suffering, we often feel our complete inability to help. What can we do to avoid being caught up in this spiral of distress and powerlessness?

“First, we can pray in communion with the Church on earth and in heaven,” the Pope said. “Let us not underestimate the power of so many voices united in prayer! The 24 Hours for the Lord initiative, which I hope will be observed on March 13-14 throughout the Church, also at the diocesan level, is meant to be a sign of this need for prayer.”

Asked how the faithful around the world can best become involved, the pontifical council’s president, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, told the National Catholic Register last month that the success of the event depends on how much "we priests are convinced about the good of the initiative” because to open churches for such a period of time “is a challenge everywhere.”

“This is not just a problem of security, not just a problem of overcoming difficulties we encounter. This is a challenge of understanding how we can, for 24 hours, become a concrete sign of mercy and welcome people into our churches,” he said.

The initiative will try to repeat the success of last year in Rome. Well-catechized and committed Catholics, many of whom were young people, stood outside churches and invited passers-by to enter. Archbishop Fisichella said Santa Maria in Trastevere was full of young people coming to confession, even at two in the morning.
