USCCB video on Daily Mass Readings presents Jesus without the necessity of membership in the Catholic Church for salvation

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) video on the daily Mass Readings presents Jesus  without  the necessity of the Church. Jem Sullivan from the Dominican House of Studies (who could be a religious or a lay person)  gives the 'homily' today   based on the Mass Readings of the day. For her evangelisation is  Jesus without membership in the church as a necessity for salvation. Jesus without the necessity of 'faith and baptism' ( Ad Gentes 7). Catholic Faith and sacramental baptism are not necessary  for Sullivan.Some one who believes  in Jesus and is a member of the Jehovah Witness could be saved.Jehovah's Witnesses could be saved in general. She could even be saying  'Jesus without any church'.

She could not say that  evangelisation is inviting people into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell. This is not possible.Since the Holy Office 1949 inferred that the baptism of desire was not implicit but explicit  for us. The USCCB also infers that implicit desire and being saved in invincible ignorance are  explicit, objectively seen in some people. The dead- saved  are visible exceptions to the traditional interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.So for the USCCB there is known salvation outside the Church and the kerygma must exclude the necessity of being a formal member of the Church for salvation.

This error since the  1950's  is being taught at pontifical universities and it must have been part of the religious formation of Jeb Sullivan.

Instead Sullivan should have been saying outside the Church there is no salvation, 1) we  personally do not know any one saved in invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire in 2014  and 2) the Church does not state/infer in any pre-1949 magisterial document that  implicit desire refers to explicit cases. 3) Neither do these  magisterial documents state that these cases are explicit exceptions to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.So this is a wrong inference made by the USCCB and so many other Catholics.

When the Letter of  the Holy office 1949 mentioned implicit desire and being saved in invincible ignorance with reference to Fr.Leonard Feeney - it was wrong.It was not relevant to his interpretation of the dogma which says sacramental baptism is needed by all with no exceptions.

Sullivan  should have said evangelize since all non Catholics ( Protestants included) are on the way to Hell unless they convert into the Catholic Church with 'faith and baptism'(AG 7).

 Memorial of Saint Benedict, Abbot
Lectionary: 387

Reading 1 HOs 14:2-10
Thus says the LORD:
Return, O Israel, to the LORD, your God;
you have collapsed through your guilt.
Take with you words,
and return to the LORD;
Say to him, “Forgive all iniquity,
and receive what is good, that we may render
as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.
Assyria will not save us,
nor shall we have horses to mount;
We shall say no more, ‘Our god,’
to the work of our hands;
for in you the orphan finds compassion.”
I will heal their defection, says the LORD,
I will love them freely;
for my wrath is turned away from them.
I will be like the dew for Israel:
he shall blossom like the lily;
He shall strike root like the Lebanon cedar,
and put forth his shoots.
His splendor shall be like the olive tree
and his fragrance like the Lebanon cedar.
Again they shall dwell in his shade
and raise grain;
They shall blossom like the vine,
and his fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

Ephraim! What more has he to do with idols?
I have humbled him, but I will prosper him.
“I am like a verdant cypress tree”—
because of me you bear fruit!

Let him who is wise understand these things;
let him who is prudent know them.
Straight are the paths of the LORD,
in them the just walk,
but sinners stumble in them.

Responsorial Psalm ps 51:3-4, 8-9, 12-13, 14 and 17

R. (17b) My mouth will declare your praise.
Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;
in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
Thoroughly wash me from my guilt
and of my sin cleanse me.
R. My mouth will declare your praise.
Behold, you are pleased with sincerity of heart,
and in my inmost being you teach me wisdom.
Cleanse me of sin with hyssop, that I may be purified;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
R. My mouth will declare your praise.
A clean heart create for me, O God,
and a steadfast spirit renew within me.
Cast me not out from your presence,
and your Holy Spirit take not from me.
R. My mouth will declare your praise.
Give me back the joy of your salvation,
and a willing spirit sustain in me.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
R. My mouth will declare your praise.

Gospel mt 10:16-23

Jesus said to his Apostles:
“Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves;
so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.
But beware of men,
for they will hand you over to courts
and scourge you in their synagogues,
and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake
as a witness before them and the pagans.
When they hand you over,
do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.
You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
For it will not be you who speak
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Brother will hand over brother to death,
and the father his child;
children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but whoever endures to the end will be saved.
When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.
Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel
before the Son of Man comes.”

Lay Catholics,including bloggers still do not realize that Vatican Council II can be interpreted with the blue or red column

(Rome) The official news agency of the Catholic Church in Germany (CBA) and Switzerland (KIPA) have entitled the following stories: "Pope Insists on New Mass for Franciscans of Immaculata" and "Pope Insists on New Mass." It is further stated in the reports, "Pope Francis has rapped the Franciscans of the Immaculata over decisions of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) and the subsequently developed New Mass." The pope "warned against departing from the provisions of Pope Benedict XVI., who had opened up the celebration of the Tridentine Mass again with a motu proprio of 2007 under certain conditions." 1
Lay Catholics,including bloggers still do not realize that  Vatican Council II can be interpreted with the blue or red column. There is a choice.They could show the Vatican Curia, that Pope Francis and the Vatican are using the the red column in the interpretation of the Council.This is irrational, not real, non traditional and not Catholics.

They can explain , to the representatives of Pope Francis that the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate and the SSPX must be allowed to choose the blue column in the interpretation of Vatican Council II.
Then the FFI and the SSPX will be affirming Vatican Council II, with rationality.They  will meet the conditions necessary for offering the Traditional Latin Mass, to teach at their own seminary and receive full canonical status with normal faculties.

Aside from personal meetings announcements can be placed in the media by lay Catholics affirming their acceptance of Vatican Council II interpreted with the blue side column.
