Ideology is still wrongly being associated with the Holy Mass

Feast of the Assumption_05
The Traditional Latin Mass is still being referred to as 'ideological'. Here is Michael J.Miller making the same error. How can the Mass be ideological ?

First: Bishop Olson is no enemy of the Traditional Latin Mass; the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter staffs St. Mary of the Assumption parish in his diocese. Less than a half-hour away, in the neighboring Diocese of Dallas, the FSSP also staffs Mater Dei Parish, which has one or two Traditional Latin Masses every day of the week. Therefore no lay people unaffiliated with the college are being deprived by the bishop’s ruling. (For basis of comparison: I live in the densely populated Archdiocese of Philadelphia, which has four parishes where Sunday Mass is celebrated in the Extraordinary Form, and I drive 40-45 minutes to the nearest one.)  -Michael J.Miller

In simpler language: the local Ordinary is obliged by canon law to defend Church unity and to ensure that abuses do not creep into the celebration of the sacraments (canon 392). The celebration of Mass in the Extraordinary Form must not be turned into an ideological “statement” that would cause disunity.-Miller

An acquaintance of this author, whose husband has worked for Fisher More College for two years, says that the college president is “a borderline sedevacantist” (i.e. suggests that the post-conciliar popes have not been valid)

Clearly, the intolerance and ideological intransigence in this unhappy situation in Fort Worth are not to be found at the bishop’s chancery.

It is important for Catholics to see that there is a campaign against the Traditional Latin Mass because of an irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II which has nothing to do with the TLM.

One can hold the irrational interpretation and as a priest offer the Novus Ordo Mass or the TLM.

A priest can reject the irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II and offer the TLM or the Novus Ordo Mass. He would be holding the traditional position of the faculty of the Fischer More College.

Ideology does not depend on the Holy Mass.

The celebration of Mass in the Extraordinary Form must not be turned into an ideological “statement” that would cause disunity. -Miller

If one offered Holy Mass in the vernacular would it be disunity for a priest to affirm extra ecclesiam nulla salus along with Vatican Council II in which LG 16 ( being saved in invincible ignorance) etc is invisible for us and not visible on earth ? When LG 16 is invisible for us it is not an exception to all extra ecclesiam nulla salus, which says all need to enter the Church for salvation. This priest would have the same ideological position as the FMC faculty but would also be affirming Vatican Council II.

If a priest offered Holy Mass in English would it be disunity to affirm the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the Syllabus of  Errors  AND ALSO  Vatican Council II in which NA 2 ( being saved in other religions which have good and holy things)  etc  refer to cases known only to God and unknown to us in 2014 ? This priest would be affirming Tradition with the same ideological position as the faculty of the Fischer More College. He offers the Novus Ordo Mass!

Would it be ideological intransigence if a priest offered Holy Mass in English and affirmed Vatican Council II ( Ad Gentes 7) saying 'all'  need 'faith and baptism' for salvation, so extra ecclesiam nulla salus is still the teaching of the Catholic Church as it was at the time of St.Robert Bellarmine, St.Francis Xavier, St.Francis of Assisi and the other saints.? This priest is not offering the TLM but holds the same 'ideological' position as the FMC faculty. He offers the Novus Ordo Mass with 'the TLM ideology' ?

Why must a Catholic be considered a “a borderline sedevacantist” if he interprets Vatican Council II 'as not being ambigous' but in perfect accord with Tradition. If the Council does not contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus then the traditonal teachings on other religions and Christian communities is still the same with Vatican Council II.

Ideology does not depend on the Holy Mass.

Traditionalists will still be criticized but their opponents will not be able to use Vatican Council against them

There seems a campaign in the Catholic Church against Catholics who are faithful to the traditional teachings of the Church, the dogmas, doctrines and  liturgy. The campaign is underway based on an irrational interpretation of Vatican  Council II. Traditionalists seem unaware of the irrational interpretation of Vatican  Council II.

Instead of correcting it, they sit back and agree with their opponents on Vatican Council II. In their ignorance they support their opponents  by condemning Vatican Council II, which is praised by the pope and his Curia, also,  unaware of the false premise. This same irrational premise is used by the Curia in the interpretation of other magisterial texts too.Without the fantasy premise, Vatican Council II contradicts the non traditional position of the Holy Father and Catholics in general.

Vatican Council II is not a break with Tradition , it is not ambiguous when LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc are not assumed to be visible (instead of invisible), defacto, known in the present times (instead of being hypothetical  and a possibility), physically visible on earth (instead of being known only to God).

Roberto Mattei, John Lamont and others criticize Vatican Council II and the break with Tradition and the confusion which has resulted in the Church. They still are not aware that this is caused by considering LG 16  etc as explicit instead of implicit. They do not realize that hypothetical cases are never exceptions to all needing to visibly enter the Church in 2014.Here is the problem.

We cannot say Vatican Council II (UR 3, NA 2 etc) is a break with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. Instead we must affirm extra ecclesiam nulla salus and say that LG 16  etc are probabilities but not exceptions to the dogma. This small shift toward rationality ( of course we cannot see the dead!)  makes Vatican Council II 'traditionalist extremism'.

Traditionalists will still be criticized but their opponents will not be able to use  Vatican Council II .

Roberto dei Mattei and others can still criticize Vatican Council II but only a Vatican Council II interpreted with LG 16  being considered visible for us in real life. A  Vatican Council II with the irrational premise.

Roberto Mattei would also have to review his writings since it is based on a Vatican Council II with the false premise. Obviously the Council interpreted with an irrationality will emerge as a break with the dogmas of the Church. A pastoral Council would appear dogmatic. The irrationality would result  in a New Revelation in the Catholic Church.

The fault is not with the Council but with the premise.

Traditionalist extremism

Many of our readers are aware of the work of Don Pietro Leone (for instance, The Roman Rite: Old and New, on the Traditional Mass and the many problems of the new liturgy). Don Pietro Leone is the pen name of a priest who celebrates the traditional Mass in full and peaceful communion with his Ordinary somewhere in that great cradle of civilization known as Italy.
In this special essay, reflecting the personal position of the author and translated by our contributor Francesca Romana, the reverend Father tries to explain what is the best way to regard the Second Vatican Council, 50 years later and with the full knowledge of all its fruits and consequences, willed or unintentional...
The obscure texts are ambiguous between a non-Catholic sense which is primary, and a Catholic sense which is secondary. In the primary sense they represent a rupture with Tradition and the Faith, whereas in the secondary sense they represent a line of continuity with Tradition and the Faith.

Rorate Caeili has presented an analysis of Vatican Council II by Don Pietro Leone who did not know that Lumen Gentium 16 etc is invisible for us. It does not refer to those saved in invincible ignorance as being visible in the flesh. It does not state that they can be seen with the naked eye.So LG 16 is not an exception to Tradition. It is with this simple error that Don Leone  has analysed Vatican Council II.

The dead for us, saved in invincible ignorance  Don Leone assumes is a known exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the rest of Tradition. So these cases of persons dead and  and visible to Don Leone are known exceptions to all needing to enter the Church for salvation. This becomes a  break with the Syllabus of Errors etc.

This is the typical SSPX error. They were led into this error when they assumed that the baptism of desire is a known exception to the  traditional interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, according to the saints and popes.

Since Don Leone assumes LG 16 is explicit for us and not implicit for us the texts of Vatican Council II emerge 'obscure' (surely AG 7 will contradict LG 16). They are 'ambigous'.Since AG 7 affirms the dogma on exclusive salvation while LG 16 (explicit for Don Leone) contradicts the dogma.

LG 16 (explicit for us) 'represent a rupture with Tradition and the Faith' while LG 16 (invisible for us and not an exception to the dogma on salvation) 'represent a line of continuity with Tradition and the Faith.'

Dr.John Dudley and the schools in Dallas

Feast of the Assumption_05
Dr.John Dudley a professor at the Fischer-More College uses a false premise in the interpretation of Vatican Council II. He is not aware of this premise. So he rejected Vatican Council II in its entirety. The same false premise used by Dr.John Dudley is the norm for interpretation Vatican Council II in all the schools in Dallas.
Dr. John Dudley
"I would argue that it is an dangerous standpoint for Catholics to say that they accept the II Vatican Council with the exception of those passages that contradict traditional Catholic teaching. There are so many passages that contradict traditional teaching that I would argue that it is of the greatest importance to entirely reject the II Vatican Council and to consider it comparable to the Second Council of Ephesus in 449AD which was rejected by the Council of Calcedon in 451. [Editor’s Note: The author later corrected this statement by acknowledging that the better analogy is to use the Second Council of Constantinople, which was a valid ecumenical council but was so deleterious to the life of the Church that it was eventually ignored and forgotten.] Catholics are in general ignorant of what the Second Vatican Council actually said. They need to know what the Council said and to know what is wrong with it and why it is incompatible with their Faith, and this is an important task of education."-Dr.John Dudley Fellow & Professor of Philosophy and Classical Studies, Fischer More College.

In the passages which contradict traditional teaching Dr.Dudley is using the premise of being able to see the dead who are saved in Heaven (LG 16, UR 3, LG 5, NA 2 etc) who are exceptions to the dogma on extra ecclesiam nulla salus, the Syllabus of Errors etc. For Prof. Dudley LG 16 (being saved in invincible ignorance) etc are visible for us instead of being invisible. This is a factual error. It is with this objective error that he interpreted Vatican Council II.

The same error is being made during Religion Class in Catholic schools at Forth Worth and the rest of Dallas.
Once the faculty of Fischer More College correct this error they can help the educational institutions in Dallas to also avoid the same mistake.
