Bishop Bernard Tisseur de Mallerais repeats the error of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

"Obviously we cannot see the dead on earth" says Fr.Aldo Rossi, the prior of the SSPX at Albano, Italy."Those who are saved in invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire are visible only to God".

Bernard Tissier de Mallerais.jpgBishop Bernard Tisseur de Mallerais has repeated the error of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) when he infers that Nostra Aetate 2 is an exception to the traditional teaching on exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church .1

You could pick any book of Archbishop Lefebvre and this error will probably be there. It is so common for him and the SSPX bishops and priests to infer that those saved with ' a ray of the Truth' can be seen with 20-20 vision on earth. Then they conclude that these ghosts saved with 'a ray of the Truth' are an exception to all needing to convert into the Church in the present times.

Bishop Lefebvre, unknowingly picked up this error from the 1940's when the secular newspapers in Boston reported that the Catholic Church had changed its ancient teaching on exclusive salvation.

Cardinal Cushing agreed with these Jewish Left publications and defended their view. The  baptism of desire was not invisible but visible for him and the Jesuits. No  one, not even Pope Pius XII was willing to say that all the Jews in Boston needed to convert into the Church to avoid Hell. The Catholic professors at Boston College who did say this were expelled. Fr.Leonard Feeney was expelled from the Jesuit community. The Jesuits and the Archbishop were teaching heresy yet Fr.Feeney was excommunicated and the excommunication was not lifted for some 19 years. They could have been waiting for him to expire excommunicated, even though he was innocent.

This confusion was brought into Vatican Council II and about every one assumed that those saved in invincible ignorance (LG 16) etc were exceptions to the interpretation of  Fr.Leonard Feeney. Those who held to the traditional teaching were criticized as 'Feeneyites', even though Feeneyism was the official teaching of the popes, Church Councils, saints and Vatican Council II (AG 7).

The error was so widespread among the traditionalists that even the communities of Fr.Leonard Feeney, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, interpreted ( and still interpret) Vatican Council II as a break with the traditional interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney and the Church Councils, popes and saints.

Obviously we cannot see the dead on earth" says Fr.Aldo Rossi, the prior of the SSPX at Albano, Italy."Those who are saved in invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire are visible only to God".

So he is also saying that  we cannot see on earth those persons saved 'with a ray of the truth', saved with 'imperfect communion with the Church'(UR 3) or saved with 'seeds of the Word' (AG 11). They do not exist in our reality.
VaticanoII un dibattito aperto

Yet Fr.Jean Marie Gleaze of the SSPX who recently criticized the canonisations of the two popes,  infers that we can see these deceased. After all, this is what Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre believed.

So how can the SSPX now admit that Vatican Council II does not contradict the traditional teaching on exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church ?

We probably have to wait for a reporter from some leftist mainstream newspaper to discover this error and then blow it up world wide.-Lionel Andrades
