SSPX priests indicate without the premise of physically being able to see the dead, Vatican Council II does not contradict the traditional teaching on other religions

Vatican Council II is not a break with the past. It is only when traditionalists interpret implicit to us salvation as being explicit and visible does the Council become a break with Tradition.

The Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) priests to whom I have been speaking to over the last month or so, indicate Vatican Council II does not contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and so neither the traditional teaching on other religions.

It means there are two possible interpretations of Vatican Council II to choose from. 1. One with the false premise of implicit to us salvation being explicit and physically visible to us. 2.Or that salvation is always implicit for us and explicit and visible only for God.

The SSPX priests have said that salvation is visible only to God. So they have chosen one interpretation of Vatican Council II. It means we cannot see the dead saved in invincible ignorance or a good conscience (LG 16), seeds of the word, imperfect communion with the Church, elements of sanctification, good and holy people in other religions etc.

So if the SSPX formally acknowledges the false premise and corrects it they would be affirming the text of Vatican Council II which would be in accord with their traditional position on other religions.-Lionel Andrades

Progressivists interpret Vatican Council II with the false premise of 'implicit desire being visible' or 'the dead are visible' and then assume that they accept Vatican Council II

Traditionalists still assume that the baptism of desire is an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus : no canonical status for the SSPX when they are really in agreement with Vatican Council II
