DID OUR LADY AT MEDUGORJE MAKE A MISTAKE?

May be the seer Vicka misunderstood her.

The Richard Cushing error has spread throughout the Church. So Catholics assume that there is salvation outside the Church. Liberals find Our Lady’s message to Vicka at Medugorje appealing  when she said most people go to Heaven and few go to Hell.

This was in agreement with the secular media’s ‘condemnation’ of Fr. Leonard Feeney and the traditional teaching that most people are oriented to Hell. Since they do not have Catholic Faith which includes the baptism of water (AG 7, Vatican Council II).

So the Franciscans at Medugorje approved Vicka’s message and –shelved Marija’s. Our Lady allegedly told Marija to read the book The Poem of the Man God by Maria Valtorta. A Medugorje spokesman denies it.

In The Poem of the Man God salvation is exclusive in only the Catholic Church.

We can appreciate The Poem of the Man God now that we are aware of the Richard Cushing error and the wrong path Rome took in the 1940’s and  repeated in the 1960’s upto today.

Since the baptism of desire is not an exception to the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus as Archbishop Richard Cushing and the Jesuits in Boston believed, we know millions of people are oriented to the fires of Hell.

Most people go to Hell and not Heaven. This is the teaching of Vatican Council II (AG 7, NA 4) and there are no known exceptions to the centuries old teaching.

So why did Our Lady say most people go to Heaven?

The ordinary way of salvation is Catholic Faith and the baptism of water (AG 7) and it is not invincible ignorance and a good conscience. The ordinary means to go to Heaven is the Catholic Church (Redemptoris Missio 55, CDF Notification, Dupuis etc) it is not other religions.

Did Our Lady have a reason for what she told Vicka?

I know if Our Lady said all non Catholics are going to Hell I may not have gone on a pilgrimage to Medugorje in the 1980’s.I was a thick liberal and heavy into Eastern forms of meditation which I gave up after the two pilgrimages and four months in Medugorje.

Today if Our Lady at Medugorje says all non Catholics are going to Hell the liberal Curia at the Vatican could end the pilgrimages. Since they are steeped in the Richard Cushing error and believe that those saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are exceptions to the literal interpretation of the traditional dogma on salvation. Is Our Lady being prudent ?

What if one of the seers asked Our Lady where is the Muslim prophet at this time and she gave an honest answer. Think of the political impact of her statement. The tension!

The seers asked her a personal question about two local Franciscan priests and after that the bishop became anti-Medugorje. So I don’t know Our Lady’s reasons.

According to the July 19, 2012 General Chapter communiqué of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) Rome made an error in choosing the Richard Cushing path, there are no exceptions to the dogma. The Letter of the Holy Office 1949 made a factual error in assuming that the dead saved with implicit desire are visible to us and so contradict Fr. Leonard Feeney. So according to the communiqué Vicka would have made an error in saying most people go to heaven instead of Hell. She would also be contradicting Vatican Council II (AG 7), the Syllabus of Errors and Jesus’ saying to enter through the narrow gate for the way to Hell is wide and most people take it. This was also the teaching of the saints.

If Pope Benedict XVI tomorrow announces that Archbishop Richard Cushing was wrong what would the Franciscans do with that message of Vicka?

Medugorje, is still a special place for me, something close to my heart, something just between Our Lady and me. I remember Fr. Slavko. In many ways he too is Medugorje for me. Then there was Madre Rosaria’s community, the Oasis of Peace. I remember Pat and Nancy, Milona and scores of young religious vocations. I knew many of them. They were all once liberals just like me.

I think if there are new pressures in future, the Franciscans could review the Marija message and reconsider the Vicka one. Medugorje is a special place, irrespective of the visionaries.
