OUR POPE IS A CUSHINGITE

Our pope is a Cushingite?

Cushingism says there can be people saved in invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire in the present times and we can know these specific cases. So it contradicts the ex cathedra dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (Cantate Domino, Council of Florence).

Cushingism gets its name from the former Cardinal Archbishop of Boston, Richard Cushing.

A Cushingite says everyone need not enter the Church for salvation. There can be exceptions (invincible ignorance etc).

Cushinghism is irrational since we can never know cases of persons saved in invincible ignorance or with the baptism of desire. They are known only to God.

Only in principle, as a concept that we can accept that there could be non Catholics saved as such. In reality we can never know any such case.

Cushingism implies that de facto (in reality, we can know such cases).

Pope Benedict XVI tells Peter Seewald in Light of the World (Ignatius) that there is only one way of salvation not two. i.e. those who are saved are saved by Jesus and the Church.

Correct, but without a clarification it is Cushingism.

There is only one way of salvation and everyone needs to enter the Catholic Church especially is the centuries- old teaching on extra ecclesiam nulla salus. The pope never says this.

Even if everyone who is saved is saved through Jesus and the Church, everyone with no exception needs to enter the Church for salvation.

The pope is throwing out Cantate Domino, Council of Florence, Council of Trent, Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7), Dominus Iesus 20 etc.

The Holy Father then tells Seewald that Jews do not have to convert in the present times.

As cardinal Ratzinger the people saw Cushingism go unchallenged in the church and the secular media (Reuters, Times etc).

Even today see the errors in the Wikipedia entries on extra ecclesiam nulla salus and Fr. Leonard Feeney. No cardinal or bishop makes the correction on the Internet.

Pope Benedict has the same position as Wikipedia when they suggest that some persons can be saved in invincible ignorance etc, so everyone does not have to enter the Church for salvation.

His former German colleague Fr. Hans Kung claimed Vatican Council II (LG 16) rejects the centuries- old dogma .He implied that we can know cases of those saved in invincible ignorance in the present times,. This is irrational but was convenient for the dissident priest.

Pope John Paul II it would seem, would want to contain this dissent. In Dominus Iesus 20 he said that though salvation is open for all, to receive it, one needed to enter the Church.

Pope Benedict XVI on the contrary says Jews do not have to convert in the present times and suggests everyone with no exception need not enter the Church .

Note: Cushingites suggest everyone with no exception so not have to enter the Catholic Church for salvation. The Feeneyite claims the text of the dogma indicates just that!

So how do you interpret the Catechism of the Catholic Church? With Cushingism or Feeneyism?

Pope Benedict it was reported said the Society of St. Pius X could accept the Catechism of the Catholic Church and they could be accepted, even if they directly did not accept Vatican Council II.

So would they have to accept the Catechism according to Cushingism? Or, according to Feeneyism, in accord with the dogma,, Ad Gentes7 and Dominus Iesus 20.

The SSPX is also hit by the Cushingite virus.

CCC 845 is Feeneyism. It says the Church is the only Ark of Salvation that saves in the Flood and everyone needs to enter it. God the Fathers wants all people to be united in the Catholic Church.

CCC 846 begins with Cushingism. All salvation comes from Jesus and the Church. It is left vague.

Then there is a quote from Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II which is Feeneyism. It says everyone needs to enter the Church as through a door. As through a door was the phrase used by the Church Fathers for outside the Church there is no salvation.

This is no problem for the Feeneyite. Since it does no contradict the dogma. That all salvation comes from Jesus and the Church does not contradict the teaching that everyone with no exception needs to enter the Church to go to Heaven and avoid Hell. The Cushingite of course reads it differently.

Cushingism is a break from Tradition. It’s a new doctrine. Its not part of the Deposit of the Faith.

Always ask a Cushingite if he knows of people saved in invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire in the present times.

Remember this - then next time you meet the pope, who could be a Cushingite unintionally.

POPE BENEDICT’S CONCEPT OF ‘NO TWO WAYS OF SALVATION’ IS NOT RATIONAL, NOR CATHOLIC

Our pope has created a new doctrine based on an irrational interpretation of Lumen Gentium 16

The pope has broken away from Pope John Paul II’s Dominus Iesus 20 and the Cantate Domino, Council of Florence on extra ecclesiam nulla salus. In the book Light of the World- Conversations with Peter Seewald he tells us that ‘there are no two ways of salvation’ and that the revised Good Friday Prayer for the Conversion of the Jews was not for their conversion in the present times.

In his ‘no two ways of salvation’ he means that those who are saved in invincible ignorance (Lumen Gentium 16) are known to us in the present times. So this contradicts Cantate Domino, the ex cathedra dogma on outside the Church there is no salvation.

Yet rationality tells us that we do not know any case of a person saved in invincible ignorance in the present times. So if we do not know any case in the present times it does not contradict extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Then it means that there are ‘no two ways of salvation’ and so everyone with no exception needs to enter the Church to be saved.

Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II, Dominus Iesus 20 and Cantate Domino says there is only one way of salvation, there are no two ways of salvation, and everyone with no exception needs to enter the Church to be saved from Hell. Including Jews.

While Pope Benedict’s one way of salvation says Jews are saved in general through this one way and so they do not have to convert into the Church.

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church there is a reference to the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston. The Letter, also placed in the Denzinger-Enchridion, refers to the ‘dogma’ the ‘infallible’ teaching.

Here is the Letter :

Now, among those things which the Church has always preached and will never cease to preach is contained also that infallible statement by which we are taught that there is no salvation outside the Church.

However, this dogma must be understood in that sense in which the Church herself understands it. For, it was not to private judgments that Our Savior gave for explanation those things that are contained in the deposit of faith, but to the teaching authority of the Church…-Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston (Emphasis added).
Here is the ‘dogma’ the ‘infallible’ teaching referred to by the Letter.
1. “There is but one universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved.” (Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215). Ex Cathedra

2. “We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” (Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unam Sanctam, 302.). Ex Cathedra

3.“The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.” (Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441.) Ex Cathedra – from the website Catholicism.org

The dogma above indicates that all Jews in Boston need to convert into the Catholic Church for salvation. There ' are no two ways of salvation' and all Jews in the present times need to enter the Church to be saved from Hell-fires.

So the pope's new doctrine is contrary to Tradition and rationality.

WHO IS GOING TO TELL THE POPE HE IS IN HERESY?
Holy Father has no texts from Vatican Council II to support his new teaching.

Prof. Roberto Mattei on Dec.16, 2010 said at conference in Rome organized by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate that dissenters cite Vatican Council II with no texts from the Council to support them. The professor has still not answered a question I asked of him at the conference. Nor has he responded after that meeting.

One can imagine his difficulty as that of the other professors at the Legionaries of Christ Universities in Rome. Since the Holy Father has cited a new teaching on the Jews with no supportive text from the Council.

Instead Pope Benedict XVI has publicly rejected Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II. He has also presented a new theology which assumes that those saved in invincible ignorance (Lumen Gentium 16) are explicitly known to us and also God. Common sense says no. It is not true.

But the senior professor is not going to say it. Neither is it likely to be mentioned in Radici Cristiane, which he edits and directs.

It’s prudent to talk about the dissent of Yves Congar, as he did that day at the conference, but not Joseph Ratzinger.

The professor-editor has written a book on Vatican Council II which was on display at the conference. What’s the purpose of writing about Vatican Council II and mentioning all the garbage of dissenters now dead and gone? While today is not interpreting Vatican Council II according to Tradition, by not answering that question asked of him. Neither does he clarify Church teaching with reference to the statement made by Pope Benedict XVI to Peter Seewald in Light of the World (Luce al mondo).

Who is going to tell the pope that he is in dissent and heresy? Not me!

If professor Matteo cannot say it directly to Pope Benedict XVI, at least he can in public affirm the Catholic Faith with texts, even if it contradicts the pope.

The dogma, outside the church there is no salvation, Ad Gentes 7, Dominus Iesus 20 etc say there is one way of salvation and everyone needs to enter the Church with no exceptions to be saved from Hell. The pope in Light to the World says there is only one way of salvation (so far so good) then implies that all Jews in general are saved in this one way of salvation and so they do not have to convert in the present times.

Where is the text in Vatican Council II?

Lumen Gentium 16, Vatican Council II does not say that Jews in general are saved in Judaism. Neither does it say Jews in general do not need to convert.

This is an added-on interpretation of Kaspar, Ratzinger, Kung and Rahner (‘anonymous Christian’).

In the article written by Cardinal Walter Kaspar on the front page of L’Osservatore Romano and which Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State presented to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, it was indicated that Jews do not have to convert in general according to Vatican Council II. Pope Benedict XVI approved that article. They also contradicted venerable Pope Pius XII who stated that only in ‘certain circumstances’ a person can be saved in invincible ignorance etc (Letter of the Holy Office 1949). It’s not the norm.

Where is the text in Vatican Council II which Kaspar was referring to?

This is also the political statement of the Zionists, ADL, SPLC etc. They have no text in Vatican Council II to support their propaganda!

No where in Nostra Aetate is it said that Jews do not have to convert?

Instead Vatican Council II interpreted according to Tradition, would be highly anti Semitic for them. It’s to the advantage of the Zionists that Catholic Traditionalists have never used this point effectively. They have been busy and tied down to the Jewish Left interpretation of Vatican Council Ii, from the SSPX to the sedevacantists Most Holy Family Monastery.

For example: A Press Conference was called by the Society of St. Pius X during the pontificate of Pope John Paul II to protest against present day ecumenism. Ecumenism was welcome but with Catholic doctrine. Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the SSPX was interviewed by the Italian magazine Il Timone. Bishop Fellay needed to say to Il Timone that : whatever be ones interpretation of Vatican Council II, the text of Ad Gentes 7 indicates all Protestants with no exception need to enter the Church for salvation. The Il Timone correspondent mentioned that Protestants can be saved who are in full communion or partial communion with the Church.

Fellay needed to ask Il Timone if they knew of any Protestant in the present times who are saved in full communion or partial communion with the Catholic Church. He needed to ask where does it say in Vatican Council II that we know of any Protestant or Orthodox Christian in the present times who are saved in communion with the church?

We don’t.

Neither is there any text in Vatican Council II which says we do.

So it was important to respond on ecumenism with texts from Vatican Council II. Similarly on the subject of salvation and other religions we need to interpret Vatican Council II according to Tradition.

Vatican Council II affirms the rigorist interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus an ex cathedra dogma. It contradicts Pope Benedict and the Jewish Left. When will Catholic priests and professors discuss it?
