MONS.MARCO GNARVI

There are two questions which Mons. Marco Gnarvi, Director of the Deptt. of Ecumenism and Dialogue, Vicariato, Rome was asked via the internet on Feb.20, 2009. E-mails were also sent to his office.

There has been no reply.

The two questions were:

1) Does the Catholic Church teach that non Catholic religions Hinduism, Judaism, Islam etc are not paths to salvation (to go to Heaven and avoid Hell)? Yes or No.

2) Does the Catholic Church teach that Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water are needed for all people in general, barring the exceptions, invincible ignorance etc, for salvation?
